and may i add not everybody has a bad onboard as i have. there are far more powerful onboards nowadays.

in racing and FPS games, high FPS is required for very different reason than to give you illusion of smoothness. :rofl:

The fallacy in that argument is that you can't compare films with video games. Films are non interactive. When interaction with a mouse comes into the picture, 24 fps or hell even 30fps feels inadequate if there is input lag as our motor functions are way more sensitive than our eyes.

its not intel or amd thats panicking is nvidia that is.amd is kicking the butt of nvidia when it comes to price to performance ratio and profit margins of nvidia is going down coz ppl are not willing to shell out insane amounts of cash for something thats not worth it and perhaps wud get obsolete in a matter of months.So basically nvidia gpus are nothing much but a bunch of overpriced frying pans .

There will allways be people who go for the highest priced stuff. Be it for showing off, or genuine need and those make the higher profit margins for companies. Budget products allways have thin margins as many compete for the same pie.

Also, graphics cards don't go 'obsolete' in six months. They just loose the 'fastest' crown. That does not mean they won't be able to play latest games.

So basically nvidia gpus are nothing much but a bunch of overpriced frying pans

Right now you are not getting the maximum performance out of your 9600GT simply because your ancient AMD 3000+ is a bottleneck for the 9600GT. This's why you posted here in the first place just because a stupid Nvidia exec says CPU is dead :lol:

theban do your research i know a lot of people that paid a lot and bought geforce 8800gts(320 and 640 mb versions) just to find out that 8800gt (g92 core) were to be relased after a few months.
