BSNL EVDO - have some queries about speed and charges

^ you can try by recharging with Rs. 55 for 1 day unlimited. I think plan depends on the specific recharge denomination..
 
Already tried rs55 pack.. plan was activated as soon as i recharged it with rs55 thru paytm.. can i just recharge it with 825?? Or do i have to do something else to activate the plan?
 
@varkey My card is now 1 month old. I had Rs.764 as balance. They deducted Rs.750 from the balance today and now I am left with Rs.14 only. But for some strange reason, I am unable to login to the BSNL server and so am unable to use the internet.

Whenever I dial *123#, this is the reply -
"Your balance: 14Rs. Expiry date: 08-12-2012 reloadable up to 23-12-2012. EVDO (UNLIMITED ).EXP:06-01-2013"

I just cannot understand why they are showing two different expiry dates. I called a friend who has used the service previously. He said that he had to recharge for extending the validity at the end of the first month. So I have recharged with Rs.20 from ezrecharge.in(BSNLSpecial). They take quite some time to do the special recharge. Still the recharge has not been processed.

Will my internet start to work after doing the validity recharge? Is there any minimum balance requirement for using the service?

@hotshot05 : Your main account expired yesterday, the second expiry date is of your unlimited plan.

Once your main account expires, you will not able to connect. As soon as the recharge is successful, the connection will start working. Experienced it numerous times. :)

No min balance requirement AFAIK.

I have 2 sierra 595u lying down which is not configured properly they are showing signals ... One says data provisioning & other doesnt connect .. What to do next ? Anyone can help me out ?

Today was the worst day for someone trying to do a BSNL recharge. All the shops in my area said that BSNL recharges are creating problems. Moreover when they heard that it is a CDMA number, they were even more unwilling to do the recharge.
Tried online at Paytm. Every time says recharge value not valid. ezrecharge.in could not do the recharge even though I tried 5-6 times.

The recharge shops which recharge BSNL GSM prepaid numbers, can they do the recharge for BSNL CDMA numbers too?
Otherwise will have to go to the BSNL office again :(
 
^ Special recharges for CDMA doesn't work on PayTM. Till now I was able to do special recharges for CDMA only through ezrecharge.in

Yes, you can visit any BSNL recharge shop and they should be able to do it, remember to tell them that its a special recharge and not a topup.

Finally back online after recharging from the neighbourhood recharge shop.

Leave alone BSNL Special, even normal Top-Ups did not work when I tried ezrecharge.in and PayTM. Last time when I tried to do a BSNL Special from ezrecharge.in, it got added to the balance. But yesterday, even that did not happen. Everytime the transaction failed.

Do you do top-up s from ezrecharge.in? Or do you do everything from the neighbourhood recharge shop?

Topups I do from ngpay and other sites, only for special recharges I use ezrecharge.in that too just once. South zone users can easily do all the STVs through the CDMA portal, so I just topup and do the STVs.

I don't remember ever visiting a physical recharge shop in the past 4-5 years! :D :P
 
Agree, with varkey i have been using the cdma portal and found it to be good for doing recharges. Never faced any issue. Just top up and use the portal to make changes.
 
X-( i recharged my EVDO with Rs.825 using paytm android app. and got Rs.825/- in main balance. what should i do O_o can i activate 1 month plan using this balance? so that they could deduct Rs.825 from my main balance and activate 1 month plan?

You did not select "Special Recharge" ?

Anyway SMS "STV 825" to 53733, it should activate the STV from the available balance.
 
I too am interested in the EVDO connection, as the tower is less than 2kms from my place. So how can i proceed for the same. Also what are the download and upload speed for the same. Also what is the price for the same.
 
As some of you guys are familiar with the configuration of Sierra 598U for BSNL, i would like to know if i get a locked 598U from US, is it easy to unlock with spc 00000 or it has some different procedure. Because the unlocked 598U is hard to find and the cost difference is also another limiting factor.
