Huh ? you need a explanation for posts asking for numbers et all of "models" and such. Last i remember we were running a Tech site..............
Spoilsport  OK Goldy PM me....that allowed??? :bleh:

4*512 OCZ/GSkill DDR600 RAM

Just wanted to add, no use really getting 4 x 512MB DDR600 rated sticks. You would have a tough time getting them past DDR400.

Antec TP2 550W

Get an Antec NeoPower HE 550W instead, much better - rail ampere ratings have been done at temps of 50C which is the way PSU's should be gradd. Has 3 x 12V rails too.

NeoHE is a strict nono with asus boards however. With a DFI, it should be fine. I'd rather get an OCZ powerstream 520W or seasonic S12 600W

That problem has been fixed, hasn't it ? Asked the guys at Antec here and was told that they have the revised ones here which does not have probs with ASUS boards.

Well, i really think the NeoHE would be an overkill. Plus, i dont know where he could pick it up in USA.

Ive told him to stick with Antec TP2550W and the other components as well.

^ A 3 Grand US$ PC, and you feel a NeoPower HE is overkill ? :P

Its only marginally more expensive than the TruePower 2.0 550W.

Surprisingly the pricing here in India is lower than the TP 2.0 550W ! (although it is the NeoHE 500W model, but still packs more punch than the TP 2.0 550W)

Hm... thats a pretty nice price. I wonder if there is a TE discount on that price :P. If there is, I'm buying one tomorrow itself lol. That PSU is amazing... 51Amps on the 12V rail :O:O:O

@ Chaos, you just do not total the 3 avialable 12V rails to get max total 12V output in a smps. it is not as simple as that.
from the figures published the max continous output of 12V rails is 456W that translates to about 38Amps. and that also provided the 3.3 and 5V rails are lightly loaded. remember the the upper cap of 500W total for all the rails.

with a little extra headroom (10 ~ 20%) this psu can easily deliver a total of 35 ~ 38 Amps on the 12V rail if required on a continous basis on a "normal" pc system where 3.3V and 5V are fairly loaded.

Absolutely true.... I looked at the detailed specs later and realised my mistake :P. But still its an awesome psu considering that its rated at 50 degrees.

guys .. jesus good sweet lord
i am dyeing now oh well i definitely wone spend so much behind a system anyways if he really wants like tht go for dual opty 240's with 16gb ecc ram and scsi stuffs a fulllllllll fledge server solution :) and yea tell him not to forget to get a oc12 connection of around 100 mbps else its a waste of money a pc is nuthin without bandwidth.
by the way the way stuffs r goin i will l;eave TE soon :) the 2nd poorest guy of TE after darky i guess.
