I hope these games dont happen. Just saw in news that false ceiling in wrestling arena have fallen due to shoddy construction.

I have myself seen the Olympic stadium and the water cube in Beijing and the entire area is just just so awesome,i guess India can never build such a worldclass stadium.
And that a$$hole saying the difference in hygienic conditions from different people's perspective. Stupid reply :@:@

What I'd like to know is how the chain of command was set up in terms of the contract work. The presence of just a single decisive/conscientious person in a position of power makes a huge difference in civil work.

At the rate how things are crashing down there, seems the whole stadium will fall down before the start of the games.

couple of months!!! we are going to hear about it every time the words India and Sports come together. People are right, the best way to salvage the games (our national pride is already screwed, so nothing can be done about it) is to call it off.

They should just let London organize this now, they've already got most of the things in order for the 2012 olympics. I even recall reading somewhere that Glasgow too is more or less prepared, guess what - they're hosting the CWG in 2014. This really is a matter of national shame and it will stereocast India as a lazy, corrupt nation.

On the other hand, I suppose instead of sending these to Kalmadi, take what he has already.

these politicians are shameless. They will say these pink chaddis are for athletes and charge 100cr to public exchequer for buying them.

I think the OC of the games, the contractors, the politicians involved have caused serious harm to India, and her citizens and should be tried for treason. Escalating the cost 4 fold, and still getting nothing done! India's standing/image in the international community has been seriously damaged. We're probably seen as a bunch of lazy corrupt morons, who like living in filth.

No other nation could have smeared our reputation as badly as the few dozen corrupt politicians/bureaucrats in charge of the games just did.

We've got practically no chance of salvaging the games or our reputation now, I just hope that this debacle isn't forgotten, and becomes a rallying cry for rooting out corruption in our government.

^^ How will they buy Audi/BMW for their sons/daughters then ? If they dont buy it for them they will come and kill us and we will still walk slowly and go back to work to earn money :rofl:

This reminds me of the story about putting a frog/lobster in a pot of cold water and then bringing it to a boil. The animal dies without a struggle...in fact it begins to enjoy the hot water. But put it into a pot of boiling water and it fights for it's life.

That's us...we're being killed slowly, and we're being conditioned into accepting our fate. But we're human, and can foresee our future. If we don't do anything about it, we're going to be boiled alive.

Our air and waters polluted, our food's poisoned by chemicals, the coasts of our country are one big dead zone, we waste tons of food while millions starve to death. We laugh at corruption that steals billions from our country's treasury while people commit suicide to escape debts of a few thousand rupees.
The commonwealth games fiasco is just the icing on the cake.

I don't it's anything to laugh about.

How many people do you know who are proud to be Indian? If the majority of ambivalent Indians would rather be in the US/UK/Canada etc, then can we blame the disgruntled Indians in Kashmir and all the other parts of the country fighting insurgency for wanting to be anything but Indian?

Give Indians something to be proud about, make people want to be Indian, and then see if people would still rather be elsewhere.

Nothing Will change until our attitude Changes. You are the begining of the change you percieve. This further strengthens ronnie's notion that nothing will ever change in India :(.

Damn i wish every employeed person would not pay Tax for 2-3 years to come. This would bring Govt to a Halt (apart from other devastating effects) but it would atleast teach them a Lesson that we , the employeed class,who pays them for the work they do, think that they dont deserve a penny for the shitty work that they are currently doing.
I say down with Taxes!

Actually we are the government. We are corrupt ourselves, the politicians didn't come from the moon..they are citizens of this country. We are at fault if the government has failed to deliver as we were not able to elect responsible people or nobody responsible enough fought the elections. Stop Blaming.

This UPA government is gone if CWG turns out to be a disaster and a matter of great shame and embarrassment for our country.

All politicians are corrupt. Who can you elect? No one according to me. My next vote is going to no party. These idiots don't deserve a thing from us.

I'm not surprised that I'm so disgusted that I want to leave now.

And we also have gotten used to the attitude "SAB CHALTA HAI"
