Health & Fitness Corona is in full swing and its not Joke !

Completely bogus news, even I heard about the rumour... nothing has come to our HQ..I speak to them everyday. Moreover WHO doesn't have any Ayurveda specialist...who are we to approve!!
WHO does not approve or disapprove anything ( we don't have that power) it only gives suggestions ( for/ against)
It's the media's portrayal of WHO. It's just an organisation of glorified beggers.
However I don't know what goes on with the (South Eastern) Asian wing of WHO, I don't even know the names of the section chiefs.
However EVERYTHING should be available in the website.
It's not really moderated and many people can and do upload rubbish in it all the time. But I'm pretty sure nothing has come to Geneva.
It's possibly the AYUSH section of central drugs standard control organisation's claim with some vague WHO certification scheme ( which doesn't mean anything except it's possibly not a known poison!!)
Do you really think WHO has the time or manpower to study something like Coronil?
I've read some texts on Ayurveda, the basic foundations are very weak ( by weak I don't imply wrong, but lack of common logic or explanation)

@red dragon , indian ayurvedic drug coronil (initially sold as immuno booster) has got some sort of approval by WHO as a medicine against covid ,and they claim that they have submitted some research paper as well could you have alook , is it a bluff or it has something substantial.

not boasting about my country , but want to verify the claims by some genuine third party personnel
The "kit" has strong immune boasting herbs which are available in the market already. Looks like they are trying to make extra money selling it as a cure for Covid.

So anyone got an appointment on Co-Win? Experiences?

It worked for me signing up relatives - After multiple failed attempts from around 9AM, finally got in at around 9:25AM and was able to find a spot -

Yet to be seen if the vaccine will be administered and how smooth it will be henceforth

Hey, anyone here registered their parents/themselves for the second phase of Vaccinations? the govt Covid web portal have started accepting registration.

A friend got his mom vaccinated yesterday.. so good so far....with PM himself getting vaccinated, I see it picking up a lot and situation should ease on another week or two wrt to vaccine availability...

Which vaccines are they using? Covishield or Covaxin or both? I had a mild corona like episode with Moderna, my wife had a severe one.
AFAIK Covishield and Covaxin both have relatively minor adverse reactions ( staying away from latest Corona updates)

My dad got vaccinated yesterday( CoviShield). No signs of any adverse reaction so far.

If at all there is an adverse reaction to the vaccine, anyone knows how long it will take to manifest?

The vast majority of global coronavirus deaths occurred in nations with high levels of obesity, according to a report linking overweight populations with more severe coronavirus-related illness and mortality.

The report, by the World Obesity Federation, found that 88 percent of deaths due to covid-19 in the first year of the pandemic were in countries where more than half of the population is classified as overweight, which it defines as having a body mass index (BMI) above 25. Obesity, generally defined as BMI above 30, is associated with particularly severe outcomes.

Among the nations with overweight populations above the 50 percent threshold were also those with some of the largest proportions of coronavirus deaths — including countries such as Britain, Italy and the United States. Some 2.5 million people have died around the world of covid-19, more than 517,000 of which were in the United States. ...

My Mother had COVID in October. She was admitted as she had severe breathing problems, fever and her Sp02 fell. Her D-dimer also increased. She was released after 4 days and then started her recovery at home. I did everything and was there with her 100%. She has recovered and is doing well now.

I spoke to the Doctors who had worked on her case back in the Hospital in October and they all gave the green signal for her taking the vaccine as 3 months had passed since her treatment.

Today Mom took the first Vaccination shot (Covishield). Went to AMRI Kolkata early morning and booked a Spot Registration to book a shot for her. Had registered my Mom via the Aarogya Setu App (Cowin) but couldn't get any booking slots at all through the app as nothing showed up as available even if I tried booking a date in June, LoL... what a disaster the app is! There was a huge serpentine line that formed by the her vaccine was complete.

Next shot is after 28 days.

P.S. Nurses who gave her the shot even cutely wished her "Happy Women's Day" :)

Glad to hear it went out smoothly for your mom. We are waiting for issues to be ironed out here in Mumbai. But that is another story in itself.

I was just asking a friend in Mumbai yesterday and he said that the waiting time for registration and receiving the actual Vaccination shot is way too long now? Are you also facing random technical issues with the App?

The less I talk about the app, the better. I mean they should focus on streamlining one portal instead of diverting resources towards multiple portals. For areas not having computers, a common kiosk could be setup/used to take registration.
Reminds me of GST horror. It just won't end!!

Railways hospitals have also started vaccination so if you have railway people you know , they and their family can get vaccinated at railway hospitals. wait time is low too. spot registration kiosks are set up. bring adhaar compulsorily

Worked well for the relatives I signed up. Not too much waiting at the center. Everything went smoothly. This is in Mumbai.

I am very surprised at myself to be saying the following but - The process and implementation has been fantastic - at least from my perspective and experience. A far cry from the shit show I was expecting.

Last Saturday , parents at sl Raheja hospital , inlaws at Hinduja hospital both in mumbai . Uncle and aunt at BKC jumbo covid centre . All 3 registration via cowin website with prior appointment . All out in one hour including mandatory half our observation .
