Ventilators are needed for older people. Much more of them in nursing homes & old age homes. India is not like that. Older people are in their own homes here for the most part. They are relatively better isolated than in the west. India will need fewer ventilators and we will find them.

Folks at bangalore check below link whether your area has any active cases or is a hotspot, mine say its not in hotspot and zero cases. I bet a there will be a significant number asymptomatic cases who have not been tested.

That is the problem with statistics. its all about choosing the sample carefully. otherwise you can show "tremendous success" or "crippling failure" based on how biased the data sample is.

17000 people may not need a ventilator, but if 1 needs it, it's a necessity.

You are possibly right, we addicts ( even in recovery) have very strong survival instincts. Death doesn't scare an addict, it's the life they are scared of.

Really feeling bad about that young doctor committing suicide. Very difficult situation. I'm a hardened person and have seen enough deaths,been to warzones, ebola ravaged countries etc. But every death plays differently in your mind. You develop strange attachments with some patients. We they die, you begin to understand, how little we actually know about human body and how insignificant we are despite spending decades in medical schools.

Whether someone's posts are scientific or unscientific, you can judge them on your own.
