Here is my bad story with DELL about their monitor warranty.

I have a 2007WFP DELL monitor which is a S-IPS/PVA Panel. Its gone and I have requested a Replacement. I got a 2009W as a replacement which is a TN panel. I didn't accept it and returned it immediately to the guy who bring it.

I called dell and those guys are now don't accept my explanation. They force me to accept a TN panel as they didn't mention anything about the "Panel" technology in the Bill.

And I got the 3 years Advanced Exchange(next Business Day) warranty. What should I do?

Anywhere in the bill it says that you will get IPS panel as replacement?

If no..I think you cannot do anything and you have to accept it..

:(

But I paid 30,000 because of the LG/Samsung panel in 2007WFP - Isn't it?

If they don't have IPS/PVA panels, they can send me a 2007WFP with TN Panel, isnt it?

Why should I accept a 10k worth 2009W for a 30k worth 2007WFP? Do you all accept it as a good customer service?

same case here sadly :(

i too am suffering from backlight bleed issues on a 2007WFP but can't replace as those morons won't give rev A04 instead offer rev A00 :@

whoever says dell warranty rocks is a moron too in my opinion

in my opinion dell & viewsonic have the worst warranty if you buy a non TN LCD Monitor

well just claim that you paid for a premium panel and wont accept something which is half the value of what you paid, so ask them to either supply a eips panel 22" or an sips panel 2007

and email the dell ppl as well, the manager or someone, take the details from the dell website

DELL releases 2007WFP with LG S-IPS Panel first. After some good reviews, they shipped it with Samsung PVA Panels. Now they are forcing me a refurbished TN Panel instead of IPS/PVA. (Should I accept a TATA Nano car instead of a TATA Safari?)

so ask them to either supply a eips panel 22" or an sips panel 2007

Actually e-IPS is nowhere compared to S-IPS. Even though they are not ready to send me an e-IPS. If they dont have any refurbished 2007WFP they may consider an E-IPS Panel, not a TN Panel, Isn't it?

I have mailed my problem to DELL people, will let you know the status.

there are a few dell reps here, maybe they can help

Can you please PM me some details.

Anywhere in the bill it says that you will get IPS panel as replacement?

Then whats the use of Model number? DELL can simply mention it in Bill as a "ANY WORKING 20" LCD MONITOR" Isn't it?

Dell advertises this model as a S-IPS or PVA Panel. Thats the reason why we all stupids bought this model. If they don't care about the Panel technology, "THEY SHOULD NOT ADVERTISE" anything about Panel, isnt it?

if nothing works there is escalation option in dell page. You will get speedy response if not any better.

@Udit and Jennifer......

i can help u in this matter !!!

u should just not accept wat this dell ppl are telling..

if ur LCD is still covered under warranty... u have every right to ask them the same thing or they have to give the upscaled version of the same .

if they say.. the product has reached its EOL (end of life) ... dun listen to them..

dell 3008wfp has reached its end of life in india... still i got around 4 replacements for my frnds using my contacts in dell.

just dont agree with them...

if needed i can help :)

PS:

dont raise ur complaints with any dumb dell rep present on the dell hotline number..

force ur entry to talk only with a customare care specialist and talk straight and be argumentative....

ur issue will be solved... u just need to frak their arese

Yes, You can help me. I have PMed my DELL Case number to you. Please forward it.

"THEY SHOULD NOT ADVERTISE" anything about Panel, isnt it?

See this, still now they are advertising the Panel technology: http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/compare.aspx/20lcd?c=in&cs=indhs1&l=en&s=dhs

How do we make sure we will the same panel as a replacement in future?

Claim that your old display had 178/178 viewing angles and the 2009 is only 170/160 and this is unacceptable in your line of work. Morons deserve moronic excuses :P. These are printed specs they can't refute.

This is what happens when people on forums vouch for a product on perceptions or popular opinions

Unless you experience it yourself, dont vouch/blame a product service quality

Many say Dell warranty rocks, Viewsonic sucks

wonder how many actually went through it

If Dell does such things, its pathetic...wth they think in giving a TN panel as a replacement to a IPS one...

if they do, why charge premium pricing for IPS model

Its like giving a 8600GT as a replacement to 8800GT

@Dinesh- as much i respect your efforts on GOs

you guys claim Dell warranty/service rocks and first class / and bash other products(viewsonic for eg)

and now, you want a customer to increase his BP, shouting the hell out with the CC reps, go thro lot of stress till he gets his sorted...may not be futile as well

and this is not the first such instance, in this forum

i think its time you change your opinion

p.s - i have nothing against Dell, even I own a Dell monitor now, and concerned

But I will not buy another DELL monitor again. I will buy a Zebronics made monitor, if they have one. This dell guys/managers are reading my emails(return receipt), but they don't ever care to send a reply, my bad!

Hehe relax bro. There's been a similar instance in TE before where the guy ordered a 30incher (3008WFP IIRC) and Gati delivered it pretty late in a really bad shape. Dell took up the matter and gave him a standby LCD (2407/8 WFP IIRC - take a note of that!). When the replacement 30 incher showed up at his doorstep probably a month later, he was asked to keep both the LCDs (the 24 incher & the 30incher!). :P

EDIT: Couple of more instances :P

If this is a temporary replacement, don't fuss too much. But if this is the permanent replacement, do not accept it. Worst comes to worst, take them to consumer court. (And gather evidence meanwhile - communicate with them only by written methods).

Otherwise, if Dinesh is so generously offering to help you out through his contacts, I would suggest you take him up on that offer!!!! :D

The problem is why everytime one has to go through this hell..

My laptop replacement was delivered ****ing 6months late, now my battery is dying and they insist that they wont replace the battery since the date in their records is nov 10 instead of march 28 when i received the replacement..

I really hate these dell guys now..anything past the ordinary, i'l prefer a company with local service center..

dude it is not at all my fault in case dell is not abiding by the same service standards it used to abide by before...

in my case. i try to help atleast those who got the LCD`s thru me get better service. one living example for such incident is Mr. Anmol kapoors replacement for the 4 th time...

i am the one who is constantly talkin with dell CC specialists..

i aint gainin anything from it... its just tat, while doing this go`s for dell... i ended up gettin a good frnd in anmol.. hence i cant say no to him if he asks me for any help (atleast where its possible for me to help him out )

jennifer...

i have got ur PM.

i`ll have a talk with someone regarding ur case tomorrow.

i dont know till what extent i`ll be able to escalate your case, still i`ll give it a shot... and if things dont fall in place from my side (as i am not the buyer, u are... they wont entertain me much for ur case )

i`ll guide you towards the right person then.
