F*ck yeah! Beat the Tower Knight (boss for area 1-2). Good thing I decided to transform back into my Human form. This boss's attacks were so lethal, that one swipe from his sword and it would be instant death in soul form. I had to use couple of half moon grass to keep my HP afloat, before I figured out the easiest way to take him down. Gained almost 16.5k souls from that level. As usual, invested those in my character stats enhancement. I'll focus on weapon building later on.

Beat the Armor Spider boss in Stonefang Tunnel level (2-1). Got my Winged spear upgraded to level 2 and same goes for my Heater shield and Scimitair. All the enemies in 2-1 were dead easy and most of all, slow moving ones. The only ones dealing major damage were the Fat officials. The dogs were probably the only fast moving enemies, but they were relatively lesser in number. Reached soul level 26. :)

Progressing quite nicely I see. :)

I so wish my console still had the 3.55 CFW.

the game seems more challenging.

Yes it is. However, the game's extremely rewarding, provided you have the patience to understand the challenges it offers.

Slow and steady, that's my mantra. My hands literally tremble, as I enter the fog to encounter a boss battle. Defeating one has me perform my victory dance. ;)

Arrrgghhh!

Just lost 22k souls and my body form in the boss battle of 2-2. I was so close to defeating the bloody Flamelurker (who people claim to be the hardest boss in the game), when he suddenly got all aggressive and started charging like a maniac. I could even focus on killing him, as getting out of harms way became my major concern. At last, I got cornered and eventually, screwed. I knew my bloodstain would be near the boss and there was no way I could retrieve it, without defeating him. I tried to speed run through the level to directly reach him. I started sprinting and before I knew where I was going, I fell into a deep ditch and voila, all my hard earned souls went down along with it. With nothing to loose, I re-tried again, but it appears his flaming attacks are vicious and in my soul form (with cling ring equipped), it won't be an easy battle.

Moral of the stage: a.) Don't rush.

Oh crap that boss-battle must have been very challenging! And very saddening to lose all those souls at the last moment. So what next? Load the game from the previous save point?

Go go go! :D

No previous save point. It's all the way back to the start of the level, which isn't a big deal. But loosing all those souls is what is really annoying me. But I ain't giving up. A little rest and I'll be back. :flex:

That's the spirit man! With this title (and perhaps Dark Souls as well) we ought to learn the basics of patience.

Another boss down; Fool's Idol (3-1). She was a relatively easy boss and best of all, she didn't move at all. Just spawned 2 clones and fired soul rays. Rescued Sage Freke and now it's time to learn some kick-ass spells. I have to hand it to the developer who designed the level 3-1. The Latria prison is one of the scariest places I have been to in a long time. Got me thinking for a minute if I was playing an action RPG or a survival horror title. Absolutely amazing level design. :fear_2:

Brilliant! Yeah I was told that some levels were pretty scary and that the environments had plenty of traps.

GG Allwyn. :)

This is the one they were talking about and I suppose there is another swamp one, which I haven't reached yet. Just Tube the walkthrough for 3-1 and watch it completely. It's brilliant.

Any chances of you getting the game?

I've posted a requirement in the WTB thread. Let's see if I can source a copy. A new one still retails for 2.4k odd in eBay! :(

OK so hopefully I'll source one come this weekend. Allwyn, what of the side quests? Are there plenty of those fetch quests or the usual RPG likes?

Erase Skyrim from your memory, I mean, when you start playing this game, don't think of Skyrim. This game doesn't really have any quests assigned to you. You have just one aim; kill them all. And when I say "all", I mean all the demon's including the bosses. You get to rescue couple of NPC's during this course, but we can't really tag them as side-quest either. You just explore, meet up with them or rescue them from their captivity. Once an NPC is unlocked, you'll meet them in Nexus. This way you can buy, upgrade and enhance everything at one central location. So it's a pretty straight forward RPG, with focus being on combat and character building. Souls are your currency and the more souls you have, the more you can enhance your skill set/weapons.

Good enough!

Erasing Skyrim from the memory - W.I.P. :ashamed:

LOL! Don't worry, I had a hard time shaking off The Witcher 2 hang-over to get used to this game. I guarantee you, we'll have an EPIC time with this game. In the end, we'll just say "Bring it on Dark Souls". :D
