Camera Digital Camera for <15,000

Sorry for hijacking your thread Kumar.

I need a Digicam for my friend, budget is 15k including 2GB card. He is a total noob at Photography so I guess manual controls aren't of any use to him, he just knows how to point and shoot. Just help me out guys, He wanna buy the camera by tomorrow.

...and it's a much more useful 28-280mm. How many times should I point out the importance of a true wide-angle. :)

so payne whats your final word, i have a budget of 250$ from US and i want a compact good camera with good video capabilities and good optical zoom
 
^^ Um if Payne doesn't mind speaking for him, I think he has been mentioning ONLY one camera so far - Panasonic TZ-5.

I too wish I has a cam that starts at 28mm. My cam starts at 38mm thats not wide at all.
