English TV series discussion

Anyone here watch Justified?

It's slow paced and features simple crime stories, some of which escalate and some don't, but it's always interesting.
Reminds me of Sin City for some reason.

Also has some of the best non-fake beautiful women on TV. Them gorgeous southern belles :D.

Watched the first 2 episodes. Had it for quite some time. Will start watching soon.

Everyone should watch Justified! Elmore Leonard creates such great characters. (Chili Palmer - Get Shorty. Jackie - Jackie Brown. Evans and Wade - 3:10 to Yuma and now Raylan Givens - Justified).

Season 4 starts on Jan 8th.
 
Just start watching American Horror Story and the first episode was pretty decent. I wouldn't say extremely scary, but mildly intriguing. Will have to go through the rest to see what all the hoopla is about.

Yeah, the name "American Horror Story" is a misnomer. It is more like a dark thriller/drama with a supernatural twist to it.
 
Just finished watching all 3 seasons of Boardwalk Empire. I must say HBO knows how to make their TV Series. I really liked The Sopranos and The Boardwalk Empire is also must watch for people who like shows and movies based on gangsters and their exploits.
 
The last two episodes of Dex and Homeland were good. Homeland was better no doubt.

Almost drawing close to the conclusion of The Shield S4. Oh boy, I so love the new Captain of the Barn. <3
 
OMG the finale for The Shield season 4 was just fantastic! There were 3 more episodes left and I thought I’d just make do with one and continue with Far Cry 3. But the moment I completed E11, I was like fcuk Far Cry I need to conclude the season before I crash and continued with the rest. And it paid off! Absolutely brilliant.

The star of this season was the new Captain - Rawling and she did her best with the seizures policy but somehow the already corrupt department and its chiefs never paid any interest and the death of the two police officers plus the community support for Antwon added salt to the injury. Not only did she appreciate the work done by her juniors esp. Vic’s team, she also stood firm against the Chief and the fcuked up Aceveda who wanted to take her down and the policy right from the start.

At the end of the finale, when she closed the door after Vic left and broke down, I felt really sorry for her. :( Things could have ended in a better way. I also felt glad that Shane and Lem. Have sorted out the issues.

Will begin Season 5 shortly. Don’t have the episodes yet. :P
 
Watching Castle season 3, I feel it's somewhat similar to Mentalist. Overall I think it's a nice watch. Don't have complete season as of now so meanwhile started watching gossip girl (:ashamed: I thought I'll never say this but i'm kinda hooked to it, is something wrong with me?:23:)

Btw howz breaking bad? IMDB ratings of this series is off the mark.. Sorry didn't go through the entire thread so don't know if someone has posted about it.
 
Breaking Bad is really really good. The season 1 is slow and 2 is even slower. But with end of season 2 and start of season 3 you will be hooked to it like anything. When I started Breaking Bad for first time, I wasn't even ready to finish first few episodes. But later I felt like I would have made a biggest mistake ! It totally paid off.

However it may not be for everyone.

And yeah, sometimes even I felt like Mentalist and Castle to be similar. However I could find lot of plot holes in Castle. But I still watch it :-/

Season 3 finale was shitstorm IMHO. Too many plot holes and the stuff that doesn't make any sense :@
 
Homeland is WOW!

2 weeks and I managed to get through all episodes till now. Kicking myself. Should have just waited another couple of weeks for the season to finish before starting :@

YD, please watch American Horror Story too! If you like Claire Danes in the first season, you will absolutely adore Jessica Lange for her performance!

These small things are what makes Shield stand out. There are no grand exits, unbelievable twists - just simple emotions and fcked up situations that everyone in life goes through. And the best part - they didn't ever drag a scene even if its the most dramatic scene of the episode. Life keeps moving on - I don't need 5 minute close-ups of everyone in the scene.

Glad to know that you are enjoying yourself.

Reading all your posts about Homeland (with some spoilers along the way, I might add) I am waiting for the season to finish so that I can dedicate a weekend to watching it. :D
