English TV series discussion

Disappointed with the season finale of The Walking Dead.

I thought the Governor would have met his fate in this season, but he escaped. I imagined Morgan would somehow come to their aid as a wild card later on and nailed Woodbury team. That didn't happen either. So yeah, didn't go as well as I expected

Elementary S01E19 : One of the better episodes of the show. Lucy Liu on the other hand...:woot:

Person of Interest S01E19(Trojan Horse) : Freaking awesome. Can't wait for the last 3 episodes and an epic showdown. After another 3 weeks break, that is.

Sorry but i did not get you ?
You mean season 5 is not that great but since i would love the first 4 seasons, i would probably not complain about season5 ?

Yeah, exactly.

From what I remember, Season 5 wasn't supposed to be there but they made it anyway. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong there.

But still, it is an awesome series, one of a kind. I still go back time to time and watch "Alan Shore's" monologues. James Spader apparently has an eidetic memory and he used to simply flip through the scripts and remember entire pages. For e.g. his closing speech in Season 2 Episode 2 regarding Schadenfreude is one I like quite a lot.

Amazing end to an amazing season of Justified. Will miss the season break but Psych and Doctor Who are back.

Just finished watching the Pilot of Hannibal and I'm impressed. To be honest, I'm amazed an NBC show depicting so much blood and violence. It has potential, that's for sure. Visually, it's very slick and has a good amount of detail. Hugh Dancy seems to really play his part well, but I'm having a bit of trouble understanding Mads Mikkelsen's accent. It feels like he's mumbling the entire time. Good thing we have subtitles.

@whatsinaname Yep, great finale and sets up the series pretty well for the next season.

Seriously, anyone not watching Justified, give it a try. I finished the entire series in under 10 days, and set up myself perfectly to catch the season finale which took place this Tuesday.

One hell of a article...
Specially these lines...
"" At one point Howard mentions playing Dungeons and Dragons. There is no joke attached to this, it’s not the punchline to any set up, however it is treated as one. Howard says the words “Dungeons and Dragons” and the audience laughs. They’re not laughing at a joke, they’re laughing at the fact that Howard plays D&D. And this kind of thing happens all the time throughout the show.

^^ Actually the laugh cues on TBBT are pretty horrible, this guy has just picked it up because of the word dungeon and dragon. That's his problem he is not watching the show to enjoy it but rather nit pick it, there are so many instances where even mundane activity has a laugh cue attached to it, why dint he pick that? The problem is not with the word dungeon and dragon, but with a horrible timed laugh cue.

TBBT's quality has gone down after the 3rd season, and there are like max 2 ep every season where they have genuine content.
But still it is one series which i really believe is unique and one can ill afford to put down.
I dont have much enthusiasm while picking the new ep up, but the hope is still there that they might get back on track.
That maybe sums up things nicely. One series which i ll keep watching due to the promise it holds. And yes, i do not like the canned laughter they have.. firing it up every now and then. More like the ppl in charge themselves are desperate and insecure.

Funny thing is, the quality has gone down since that writer's guild strike. Ironical that they wanted better pay for the stellar work they were doing.

Denny Crane
Denny Crane

Love the way he just says his name after coming out of a trial (before the press) and speaks gibberish in between.

Boston Legal. Total timepass series. Recommended.

Yeah I so miss him. :(

The new character looks so kiddish in comparison.

You guys give way too much credit to Whitfield, RIP. I say this with all due respect to the man.

In terms of intensity, I find both Whitfield and the current guy near about the same. Plus Spartacus was never about great acting. The first season storyline also delved deeper into the characters than the 3rd and 4th season. So i don't think Mcintyre got a reasonable opportunity to display his acting chops with the shallowly written last two seasons. Talking of which, can't wait for next week's series finale but in a bad way. Just wish to be done with the series as it's become a pale shadow of how it was in the first season.

And if anything, i miss John Hannah and his awesome swearing lines (shoo in the fantastic gladiatorial battles as well). Lastly, the best season of this series didn't even have Whitfield (Gods of the Arena).
