English TV series discussion

Finished watching "Homeland". Actually This was my 2nd time .. 1st I saw alone and 2nd time with my bro :D ... Insisted him to watch first few episodes and from there on he just couldn't stop himself watching all 24 episodes back to back me sitting by his side ... Again! :D. Eagerly waiting for season 3. Definitely one of my fav shows.

Tomorrow begins GoT Season 3 :D

Started watching Community she seems cute

seems!!!?

Started with Arrested Development S04. Done with 5 episodes. The web rips are not bad by any standards. Probably many are so used to watching HD stuff, this feels bad to them. I find the quality perfectly fine.

WOW! Are we seriously censoring the word "b**bs" here now? Are you kidding me? Party Monger's post on page 314 had it and that didn't get censored. It's better if we get a list of words to self-censor or just bring back the profanity filter.

Also, as far as the name usage goes, it's the name given to Troy's monkey on the show.

Hey i'm all for boobs and the freedom to talk about boobs. As long as no one is being derogatory and its all in good spirit :)

Guys, now that GoT is over, I'm looking forward to watch a very good, something similar TV series to watch. I'm thinking about Spartacus..how's it? A nutshell review perhaps.

Also is this the correct order in which I should watch the series?:
1st Season aka Spartacus: Blood and Sand
Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. This is a prequel but it's better if I watch this season here.
2nd Season aka Spartacus: Vengeance
3rd Season aka Spartacus: War of the Damned

Preciesly. It's merely a slang which has been (and will be) brought up numerous times on this forum. Also, I wasn't pin-pointing your post in a negative way, it's just that I was confused about someone silently ninja'ing my post.

Eddy, if it was reported, I'm fine with it. It would have been good if the person who did that could provide a justification to it.

Don't know what genre GoT is but Spartacus is unique in its own right. Nothing much to say about the story as you might already be knowing about it. Since the plot is limited by historical compulsions, the things to look forward to most in this series are the wonderful characters. You'll probably remember most of these characters and the actors who play them for a long while after being done with the show.

What I (rather, most) loved about the show?

- Great sword fighting/choreography/gladiator battles
- Very interesting characters
- Very good acting (immediate examples include John Hannah, Peter Mensah, Manu Bennett, and Andy Whitfield)
- Fantastic dialogues (John Hannah and his character rule in this aspect)
- Lucy Lawless :D

What I didn't?

- The gore could get a tad too much at times
- Series loses a bit of momentum in its final stages

Also, always watch movies/series in the order of their release only; same applies for Spartacus!

Move on to Rome once you are done with Spartacus, which is another brilliantly dramatized take on Roman society and power struggle!

Is it an anime?? Not able to find any other series by this name ...

okay you guys have inspired me to watch spartacus...will start watching it and see how it goes

Started and finished Band of Brothers this weekend.

One of the best mini-series ever made.. Had watched a few episodes when it originally aired on HBO many years ago, been longing to finish it.

As the title suggests its more about the bonds of brotherhood between men forged in war than the heroism or patriotism ..

The show is quite an emotional journey and has a beautiful ending .. Its based on the real life stories of the men of Easy Company of the 506 paratroopers regiment which spearheaded the DDay invasion into France ..

^Saw it 3 years ago, reminded me of Company of Heroes and Call of Duty 2 :D

Excellent.

How is chuck ? Being bored on weekdays evenings.

Go ahead and watch it . You don't have anything better to watch.

Lots of gadgets, technology, comedy, action and ofcourse the beautiful and sexy Yvonne Strahovski. You get to see a lot of her, literally a "lot'.

Unlike other shows the comedy is not 'written' and are generally in reference to games, tv shows, real life events, geek stuff, star wars etc...

You'll get addicted to it, "might" be a bit boring... In some episodes of the later seasons.

Zachary Levi awesome acting.
