Guys, now that GoT is over, I'm looking forward to watch a very good, something similar TV series to watch. I'm thinking about Spartacus..how's it? A nutshell review perhaps.
Also is this the correct order in which I should watch the series?:
1st Season aka Spartacus: Blood and Sand
Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. This is a prequel but it's better if I watch this season here.
2nd Season aka Spartacus: Vengeance
3rd Season aka Spartacus: War of the Damned
Don't know what genre GoT is but Spartacus is unique in its own right. Nothing much to say about the story as you might already be knowing about it. Since the plot is limited by historical compulsions, the things to look forward to most in this series are the wonderful characters. You'll probably remember most of these characters and the actors who play them for a long while after being done with the show.
What I (rather, most) loved about the show?
- Great sword fighting/choreography/gladiator battles
- Very interesting characters
- Very good acting (immediate examples include John Hannah, Peter Mensah, Manu Bennett, and Andy Whitfield)
- Fantastic dialogues (John Hannah and his character rule in this aspect)
- Lucy Lawless
What I didn't?
- The gore could get a tad too much at times
- Series loses a bit of momentum in its final stages
Also, always watch movies/series in the order of their release only; same applies for Spartacus!
Move on to Rome once you are done with Spartacus, which is another brilliantly dramatized take on Roman society and power struggle!
