English TV series discussion

Guys how much time it takes for generating interest in The Office US ?
I watched 2 episodes and felt they were just ok.
This was like 20 days back.

'Diversity Day' was probably the most hilarious episode in the first season. After the final episode 'The Hot Girl', I pretty much went on a marathon run of the show. Keep watching, once Dwight and Jim's pranks open up, you'll enjoy it a lot more. Michael is always the ace on the show, so you can count on him to pull through in every episode.

No offense to Sherlock fans but i have given up on it for now, Last watched season 2 episode 1 and i don't really get hang of this and the detective stuff is okiesh. I have a strong feeling that since i have seen Monk, which is such crime solving stuff only, i did not like this.
So for sherlock fans, if you haven't seen Monk, i would recommend you give a try.
One more thing which may have contributed to me not liking the series may be i not being able to fully understand the British accent. I have only watched Hustle which was a UK TV series and all others were American. I have no difficulty in understanding American accents.

My Nexus 7 has first 2 seasons of Newsroom loaded so i am probably going to start that, or may be The Office (mainly because it is over as well).

Done with Top of the Lake. A decent mini-series. It could have been more focussed in some aspects and not drag along, but the performances were quite strong. When it started out, the first thing which struck my mind was Les Revenants. The beautiful location and the eerie soundtrack was a total deja vu.

American Horror Story is probably next in line, since the current season just wrapped up.

Guys I stopped watching White Collar long ago, but I don't remember which season and all. I think I have finished that particular season, but I am not sure. This is what happens last I remember:
Neal Caffery absconds, shown seated in a air plane and I think with Burke. Was it end of S04 finale?

@avi - i think thats the season 3 ending, dont exactly remember though
i am liking the season 5 so far
White Collar is not so great of a Series but a good one

modern family is cool and enjoyable dramedy. but anyone who thinks its comedy needs to watcn coupling,it crowd, the office, peep show first and then talk.
I have seen Coupling, The IT Crowd and The Office.
I still think Modern Family holds its own among them. It might even actually be the best of the lot right up there with The Office.

Coupling is overrated, it takes 1 joke and stretches it across 30 minutes. It's great when the joke is good but falls on its face when it isn't.

Monk is a good show but it has nothing on Sherlock. Monk is just another procedural detective show, while Sherlock is a show about a detective.
Watch with subtitles if you must but if you didn't like Sherlock S02E01 then there's something wrong.

Also if you were expecting something similar to Monk, Elementary is probably what you want to watch. It's the Americanised procedural humdrum take on the Sherlock Holmes character.
