English TV series discussion

Finished Fallout Season 1.

Enjoyed the show in spite of the fact that I haven't played any of the FO games. Walton Goggins as the Ghoul was fantastic. Really looking forward to Season 2 and how the story progresses.

What Jennifer Did - 8/10

I have a particular interest on crime documentaries so had to pick this one up.

This is a well made documentary about Jennifer Pan's case from 2010. I first came to know of this incident through watching an episode of Deadly Women in 2017 and then watched her interrogation video's which were are still available on Youtube back then. This documentary however uses better quality interrogation videos, re-constructs the incident and also brings in the Detectives and Investigators who were associated with this harrowing case to shed their insight. Worth watching.

Also, if you have watched the above documentary then do give this a read:
8 things missing from Netflix's doc of a woman who schemed to kill her parents

I hope Netflix picks up other cases and makes documentaries like these. Russel Williams, Ashley McArthur, Gertrude Baniszewski, Katherine Knight and so many more cases they could build documentaries on.

I found the final episode of Shogun rather underwhelming but I'm pretty sure it could be just me. I was expecting more... swords and flying cannons!

However, having said that...

Toranaga's plan was brilliant. Man didn't even have to wage real war... played human chess like a boss, sat on a rock by the sea and won!

I will watch the old Shogun show from 1980 once though for comparison. It has Richard Chamberlain as the Anjin.

You are not alone but I was 99% sure that this would be a plot but anyways the show was enjoyable but the last episode could have been better with some sort of fight scenes.

Started Sugar.

Picked it up because of Collin Farrell. First episode was good...solid acting by Farrell. Show seems to have a slow burning noir mystery story and I'm hoping it doesn't get boring.

Madam Secretary - time pass 7/10
Inspector Rishi - crime thriller 8/10
The Consultant - Season 1 - dont watch - 2/10
Payback: Money and Power - Season 1 - 6/10
Poacher - Season 1 - 8/10
The bridge (currently watching ) - thriller 6/10
Fallout - Season 1 (currently watching) - 5/10

Designated Survivor : 5/10, There are 2 parts of this series (Politics and conspiracy) the politics part is good and will give vibes of House of the cards but the conspiracy part is very slow which made the show boring. Killing politicians like Vice President of US is a joke while on other hand Sutherland was great and single handily handled the show.

Around the 3rd of 4th episode I bought the book on Amazon and read through it in one weekend.
The ending is frustrating even in the book.

But thats how it played out in real life with Tokugawa Ieyasu who is the real life counterpart to Toronaga.

I hoped they would show the ascent of Toronaga to the shogunate in a new season but seems like the creators are staying true to the book.

Hi,

Anyone can able to let me know the Name of the Song / Artist Name of the Rap / Hip-Hop Track used in 'Loot' Season 2 Episode 6 around Nine Minute Ten Seconds which starts as 'Welcome To My Life, I Keep it Pushing, Keep it Pushing Every Single Night'.

I Searched YouTube / Google - YouTube shows lots of listings but none are the right one..... Please help if possible.

Thanks in Advance.

The Regime - 7.5/10

I loved this mini-series. Kate Winslet just stole the show as the Chancellor. She got into the skin of the character and dished out a brilliant performance. What an actress she is!

Even though some people didn't like the way the show end I didn't have any qualms with it.

Dark Matter from apple tv- 6/10 A sci-fi/mystery series.
I don't recall the series but the story seems repeated. Details are missing from a few palaces.

The Amazing Race Season 36 - This season was actually shot before Season 35 during 2022 when COVID was decreasing but decided to air it after Season 35. They stuck to only two continents and private jet travel. Nevertheless, a good season filled with well thought out challenges for the teams.

This is one show I have been following from the very first season when I was in school! :)
