970 evo plus runs hot(hotter than usual for a typical NVMe drive) & old tech. SN770 will match it in almost every task a typical person perform on a typical system & even exceed it in many cases all the while running cooler than it.

Other than keyboard layout not being ergonomic. It comes with two expansion slots (ssd and nvme) However, you can use either one of them as the slots cross each other.
