Ok.. m getting E5200.. suggest a good mobo with decent onboard graphics.. thats it.. :)

Rest of the components?
Budget for all the components?
Primary use of computer?

Mobo= Gigabyte G31M ES2L

None!! if you have 2-3K budget!

Go for Gigabyte G31 chpset motherboard and buy entry level PCIe graphics card.

Get gigabyte GA-EG43MF-S2H............

It has onboard graphics as well as an HDMI port...........

If you want some decent onboard graphics go for some Nvidia chipset based mobo's instead of gigabyte g31. Best would be to buy g31 and some entry level gcard :)

All intel IGP are the worst in IGP market.. You should rather spend in cheap graphics card or get yourself an nvidia mobo with 9series graphics :)

get the Gigabyte G31 mobo and a low end grfx card...Intel IGPs sux big time. Even my old 6200TC is better than GMA3100 on the G31 chipset(but some how Vista performance rating will give u big values for GMA :P )

But the newer midrange mobos have Intel GMA 4500 ..............

I heard it's quite good if u use windows XP with at least 2 Gb of ram....

@ jin: Agreed. I suggest you stick to gigabyte g31-s2l out of all the thing that is advised here. Stay away from random "try this try that" recommendation :P. This isnt a fashion show.

What do you mean...???
The G31-s2l has a old northbridge and southbridge and it's onboard VGA is Intel GMA 3100...It does'nt even have a HDMI port....

If u r going for onboard graphics after all, why go for an entry level one. The midrange ones within 4k-6k sports Intel GMA 4500(latest) and some of them even has a HDMI port. The northbridge and southbridge in those mobos are also better than that of the G31-s2l.

the g31-s2l is made for those who has a budget of 12k-15k(entry level budget PC).

If u are depending on your motherboard for graphics and everything else, then the g31-s2l will get least priority.........

Gigabyte G31M-S2L/ES2L

Gigabyte EG31M- S2

Not any G31- gigabyte G31.

That is the cheapest mobo option without compromising on stability or reliability. :)

Tried, tested, almost legendary stability, good OCing options.

Use it and if your work demands or you feel the need for better gfx,

buy a gfx card like 9500GT, HD4670, 9600GT or higher as per budget. :P

I suggested G31-S2L as the OP needs a normal system. If I suggested anything else here, stubborn TE Gigabyte fans will cut my neck for sure(plz don't do it now guys :( ). If I was buying a E5200, I would sure pick up a MSI Neo P45-F or EVGA 650SLi mobo as I like to overclock a bit more than others...and for normal usage I would pick up at least a P5KPL-CM or a P5QL-CM...like I now use for my home PC as u can see in my siggy.

Neck cutting time! xD

Seriously what are you on about here?
Apart from personal preference, do you really believe the MSI Neo or the EVGA 650 will let you OC the E5200 higher than the Giga G31 series? The G31 series can already handle speeds way beyond what you would even consider for 24/7 use.

And im not a gigabyte fan, neither are a lot of people who suggest these boards. It's kinda wierd that when you back a product because of it's capabilities, you get accused of favouring certain brands. I don't care if the aforementioned G31 boards were made by the same guys that make Manikchand gutkha, i'd still back them because i've seen what they can do first hand. It's not that there aren't better boards out there, but there are none that do what these do at this price range, not to mention the fact that even a 2k or so external GPU will thrash the capabilities of lower-end mobo's with reasonable IGP.

ok..I just said my personal preference, and every one hav their own. I didn't say Gigabyte G31 mobos are so cheap and bad...there isn't much difference between the G31-S2L and the P5KPL-CM and I hav seen wat both these mobos can do, they are gud in their own ways.

But seriously y do u think a P45/P35/650i mobo has nothing more to giv than a G31 mobo?!!...then y u all go and use a E7xxx series or E8xxx series or even a Quad with G31?? G31 hav support for them, nah??...and way too easy to save money!!

I hav no favoritism for any brands, just suggesting wat I see gud to use...other than following trends like E5200 means Gigabyte G31-S2L...PSU means VX450 and so on here.

Exactly!
I think i can elaborate on my point a little better now.
The idea is to choose a mobo and CPU combo that run out of their potential at roughly the same time. Which is why i woudn't recommend a a G31 based mobo for someone going for , say a quad, or even an E8400.

Every trend or top rated product has it's own story and reasons behind it. There are mobo's the cost near to the G31 and are "almost" as good. There are other PSU's in the 4k or under range that are "just" as good as the VX450.
Atleast in the case of the VX, the saving money argument is valid, but the Giga G31 has NO alternative as of now/no real competition in it's price range.

As long as that is clear, all is good. Remember no one is bashing you for suggesting alternatives, that would be stupid. And if you truly believe that your suggestion is better, keeping quiet about it would be wrong. :)
Cheers bro :)

Ok...........got it.......

So u want people to believe that an entry level motherboard costing Rs.2700 will perform better than the ASUS P5QL-CM which costs twice it's price......
And strictly saying Asus is not that bad although not as good as gigabyte.
So, In no way is your statement correct or complete.....
