Hi, my old first revision 8800gts 320MB which ran great on many games has broken and I need a new graphic card which is about the same or better performance.

1. What is your budget? - about at rs5000 +- rs500
2. Current rig Specs
CPU - intel C2D E6750 2.66Ghz
Motherboard - gigabyte p35-ds3
RAM - 2GB
Monitor 19"
3. Which PSU/SMPS will you be using?
Silverstone 560W
4. Primary use? (Casual gaming, Hardcore gaming, Just for display, Movies/HTPC)
casual gaming - football manager, MW2, half-life2, fallout3
5. What resolution do you game on?
1400x900
6. Interested in Crossfire/SLI?
no
7. Open to both Nvidia/ATI?
yes

i think 4650 comes in your price range but 4850 will very good as 4650 is underclocked GC. though its about 1K expensive than what your budget, but its worth the price. :)

^^ They are mostly going out of stock, as 5xxx series are released. Grab it as fast as you can. Do inquiry of that products online also and not just locally.

Made a trip to Nehru place today...

the only graphic card in that range is 9800gt..

all other are out of stock.. :(

Thought so, but I will have to upgrade my power supply as well right? My current power supply gives 18A at the 12V each Techgage - Silverstone Strider ST56F 560W PSU

I am unsure if the power supply can handle HD4850

Dont worry, it will run HD5850

no. it's around 4.7k. If someone is trying to sell you 9600GT, it's either used one or fake model.

I have a budget of 4-6k.
CPU: Intel D945(dual core) proc(3.40 Ghz)...
Mobo:Intel 946DZIS mobo...
1Gb RAM(arnd 400 MHz)....
Monitor: Samsung 17" CRT :(
Techtree 450W PSU....
Primary Use: Decent amount of gaming(almost al dat wer realeased uptil nw) along wid watchin muvies
Resoultion: 1024*768(dats d max my monitor can support)
Nt inetrseted in crossfire/SLI
Open to both Nvidia/ATI

im willing 2 upgrade my RAM to 2Gb/4gb Crossair 800 MHz(i also wanna kno wud 4gb RAM make a gr8 difference 2 d performance)..suggest me 2 graphics cards 1 under 5k n anoder under 6k...both shudnt require me 2 upgrade d PSU...

No, it retails for around 5k..

Your first option is a HD4670, you wont have to upgrade your PSU for this..
and for your second option you will need to upgrade our PSU and you can get a 9600gt..
a 9800gt is also available below 6k but it is only recommended if you plan on upgrading your CPU as well in near future..

If a CPU upgrade is no where or very far from now, stick to a HD4670/9800gt..
will play games easily at that resolution..:)
