Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

Hi, My old Rig (in my sig) has gone Kaput. So am planning to get a PII 955.
I have a 21inch LCD. I will be getting A GP-AL650 SMPS with the new rig.
My budget is 12K for a GPU(lower would be better)
I am interested in games like Flight sim, HAWX, Batman etc. Should I get a Geforce 260 or get a Geforce 250 (zotac -> cheaper) and get a 96XX for dedicated PhyX? Does PhyX crack works properly for ATI main GPU? or I should just stick to a 4850 1Gb and save for future?

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

I sold my Palit 4850 Sonic. Now want to buy new powerful card for my 22" .Budget 14k .

Any suggestion ???

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

^^

Add a bit more and get HD5850 : And achieve Nirvana (for a while)

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

^^ Agrees, at that price point it makes sense to either wait or get a 5850..

@Bodmas, the best gpu at tat price range is a 4850...The Sapphire one might be at around 6.5k mark...

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

Sapphire HD5850 1GB GDDR5 PCIE (Game Edition) @ 17,000 (pre tax/octroi)

Graphic Card Advice..

My Friend has a PC and an LCD of 40". He just does some casual gaming. So there is no need of any High-End Graphic Card. The actual need of it for him is he want's an HDMI Port on his PC. Not the DVI one because it does not give sound through the cable and need's another cable to be connected. So Please suggest a Card Which Has HDMI with 5.1 or 7.1 Surround Sound Output.(Not Necessary if does not come in the budget)
His Current Hardware Config is:-

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500@ 4.1Ghz (O.C)
Corasair 4 GB 800 Mhz DDR2 Value Select (2x2)-Dual Channel
Gigabyte GA-G31M-ESL2
Corsair VX 450 Watts Power Supply.

The Budget is about 2,600 to 4,200 (As He does not do lot's of gaming on the LCD)

Re: Graphic Card Advice..

ATI HD4670 512MB fits the bill. Surprising, his system config is good for a card to be missed out! :)

BTW wrong section! Have asked a mod to move the thread to the suitable section.

i want a gfx. card that can play gta4, Dirt2, crysis wh... at very high graphic setting at 1366 x 768 Widescreen 16:9 resolution or 1024 x 768. :D

HDMI is a must

i dont care about dx10 or dx11.

i'll connect the PC fulltime to 42" TV :D

budget's also a problem, can put only 6k atm.

saw 4770 for 6-7k in other thread, but its 128bit mem. worries a bit.
