Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

I am almost certain its nothing in my PC. I have tried a different GPU in my PC and it works absolutely fine.

Thanks for the replies BTW. I think I will get the GTS 250 if MSI dont do anything again.

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

Hi,I am a new member here. My system configuration is
P4 3.2 processor
512MB DDR RAM
160 GB hard drive
Intel 865G original motherboard with 3PCI and 1AGP slot
with the above configuration which graphic card is suitable with TV out? My budget is Rs 2500/-.
should I go for a new or a old one?

Basic graphics card

processor : AMD x4 620 / 630 (yet to be bought)
mobo: Gigabyte-785GMT US2H
DDR3 2 GB RAM
Gigabyte 460w PSU

The above mobo comes with IGP (HD 4200 ?). But if I plan to buy DDR3 based mobo (simple) without IGP, then from the savings (don't know how much), can I buy a graphics card which can give me similar performance as that of IGP on Gigabyte-785GMT US2H mobo?

1) Should I go separate mobo and graphics ?
2) if so, what is the brand, model no for the graphics and expected price?

Please suggest. Thank you.

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

almost all gpu beats igp solutions hands down .....

get something like radeon 5570 or 5450...
price will be around 3.5k or so..

Since your config has the old AGP slot..
try to look for HD2400 AGP one..or a 6600gt AGP..

Usually mobos with IGP are cheaper than non IGP mobos..
It depends on your usage..
If you only want to watch HD videos or play games on low setings..the IGP would suffice..
If your an enthusiast..go with a discrete graphics solution..
please mention your budget..

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

Yes it will work but its too risky. If you want to get HD 5850 then change your PSU first, get at least Corsair VX 550/CM Real power pro 550.Otherwise get HD 5770 ,it consumes less power and is good enough for full HD gaming but still I won't recommend to run it on CM extreme power plus 600.

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

Dont even try running a HD5850 on that PSU..

it will run on first go..but its too damn risky..

and no point risking such a good card..

Get a good PSU that will compliment your card.. :)

A VX550 preferably ..will give you overclocking room too..

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

I just bought my new Sapphire HD5850 together with ACBel 660 PSU recommend by the dealer. There's some weird sound on my PSU sometime (like excessive current), making me guess whether this PSU is capable or not to support my HD5850. Any help from experts are appreciated...

Thanks

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

[quote name='muzux2']^ I highly suggest you to change that PSU as soon as possible..

AcBel Polytech iPower 660 Power Supply Review | Hardware SecretsQUOTE]

Thanks a lot for the advice :).

Now that was just great, i have to spend more money to buy another PSU, what a bad day. Don't think i can exchange the PSU to another one(corsair etc) :(. Nevertheless, i have no choice but to replace it ASAP or my beloved PC might possibly burn out.

Thanks again.

Yeah, change that PSU ASAP..
get something similar like a corsair VX550..

For the time being, remove your GPU right away.

As suggested by pavasedge..
HD4650 is your best bet..will be safe on the PSU as well as the pocket..
and it will handle games at medium settings on that resolutions..

hey this thread need an upgrade with ATi's %xx series, no!?

Hey, it does...
gonna work on it when nvidia comes up with the GT's in india..

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

i think GTX 260 core 216 is 11500, the cheapest i can find over the internet
better brands like sapphire, XFX are costlier
and i heard core 192 version is cheaper
and why wudnt 1 go for 5770 in the first place, its better than gtx 260 or 4870, costs just 10k....

and...ati 3650 is 2.5k, being better than 4350, or 9400gt
5450 wud be a better chioce, since it supports DX11, still outperforming 4350

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

Please suggest me a card, here's what's in mind so far:
cpu: amd phenom x4 965 be
mobo: gigabyte xta-ud4
card: [ suggest] in mind i have the hd 4670
ram: ddr3 kingston as in pune i didn't get ocz
psu: hopefully corsair 550 or cm 600
hdd: 1> 500 gb 16 mb 2> 500 gb 64 mb
cab: hopefully cm elite

Complete budget: 50K

Also am i missing out anything, thanks!

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

what is ur budget for the card....if u can afford 4670, i think u can go for 9600gt 512 mb for 5000....just 200-300 bucks more than 4670

but in my opinion, i'd go for a better card rather than these high end proccy and mobo, and invest in a better card, if i were building a gaming rig

and HDD with 64MB cache memory wud be preferable, if thats wat u were asking
