Nvidia disables PhysX when ATI card is present - Page 78
download this patch and use nvidia 195.xx drivers ..not the latest ones
AND my question....budget 12k max
want to buy a dx11 GPU...can i buy ATI....or wait for fermi mainstream cards ???
NVIDIA's Dual-GPU Fermi in April, Mainstream Cards in June - Graphics chip maker to expand its line this year - Softpedia

Waiting is suggested if you can.. :)
Maybe the mainstream nvidia card will pack a punch..even if they do not..
ATI's prices will surely come a bit down..
till then keep collecting the moolah...and maybe you will have enough to buy HD5830 or if your lucky HD5850..

Hi anyone know the price and any dealer selling HD 5570 and HD5450 ATI gfx cards ? :ashamed:

hi dear, i also want to buy HD 5570 but the prob. is, I don't know whether my psu -(which originally comes with coolermaster elite 310 cabinet) will be sufficient for this card or not. :S
Help needed urgently.

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

it requires 400w power supply
and ur CM elite 310 has 420W psu, so its recommended u buy another one....
u might be able to run it though....
but there's a way around..u can use a local 450w psu for ur other components, and cm elite psu for card....

I dont exactly know what PSU comes with that cabinet, but am pretty sure it can run the HD 5570 safely..
HD 5570 consumes very less power, lesser than HD 4670 also..
So it should properly..
do give a check on what PSU you have, and Ill give you a more direct answer.

Using two PSU's in one system requires you to hotwire the PSU, which is not recommended..It voids the warranty and is not safe also.
stick to one PSU.. :)

somehow i come to know that my psu is of 390w, but the retailer says that it can run those card also which mention minimum system requirement is 400w. Is it so? or he just trying to fool me.:@

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

a branded power supply like corsair or zebronics wud've handled that

but since ur's might not be as good as them, it is advisable u buy a new one

or u can hotwire, as i mentioned before, till the time u gather money to buy a new good PSU, but, as wasted gamer said, it is not advisable

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

Hi, I am going to purchase an ATI 5850 soon, but I dont have any idea if my PSU can support it or not, its a 500 watt zebronics Platinum series PSU [22A on 12V] & it comes with one 6 pin pci connector & one 8 pin pci connector along with 2 molex.

Thanx

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

I am pretty sure 500 watts should be enough as the max power consumption under load for 5850 is 150 watt which is just 6 watts more than the max power consumption by my current card (G80 Gts 640mb) and my psu can handle that flawlessly. What i am not sure about is the amperage requirement for 5850

It is advisable you change your power supply to a branded more efficient one..
Zebronics is not known as a good manufacturer..
And since you are getting a high end card, a high end PSU should also be bought to run the card without any hassles..

Get a Corsair VX550w..it will run the card perfectly, giving you room for overclocking as well..:)

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

I need advice.. :)
need graphics card for: Graphics design, video editing may be 3d rendering later. But primarily for stuff related to this. No gaming.. softwares to be run: adobe suite, video editing softwares, corel, 3d max, maya.

Current specs -
amd 5500+ - 2.5ghz dual core
mobo - M2NPV-VM
ram 4 gb - dual channel - 533 mhz
hdd 500 gb 7200 rpm
psu - cooler master 480
monitor - viewsonic 21" + 24"(full HD)

need suggestions..?? cos its for work, so no budgetary restrictions.. need a card which shall not say no to anything its fed with..

if you guys think this CPU n mobo is not good for what i want to do, then please suggest about that too..

but i thought may be getting a dedicated graphics card shall solve my issue of slow graphics performance of my pc..

thanks..

for video editing, 5770 wud be enough

thanks.. but what about graphic designing? which shall include both 3d as well as normal 2d graphics..

i am open to reading and researching about graphics card.. but just to save some time as i am hard pressed for time, i needed some quick advices from TE..

lets say if i do not want to cross 10k price range, which graphics card can handle a wholesome range of things like graphics designing, video editing etc.. with good memory also..

my mobo is a ASUS board.. so may be asus nvida boards are preferable..

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

Budget = 6 - 6.5k MAX.

Current rig Specs:

CPU : C2D E4500

Motherboard : Intel D946GZis

RAM : 3GB DDR2 667MHz

Monitor : SAMSUNG Sync Master 17" @ 1280 x 720, BUT Going to get 32"HDTV

I've 450W Circle PSU.

I will be using it for Casual Gaming and To view HD Movies On HDTV so HDMI is strongly recommended.

Game Resolution will be 1280 x 720p

Both Nvidia/ATI will work.

Ati 5670 1gb should be good for ur needs....if u r willing to change PSU then u can get used 4870 in that budget...bit older but pretty good for hd gaming....

for 10k price range, 5770 is the best
if u want to opt for nvidia, gtx 260 is good, but its a little more than 10k
for 8k, u can get gts 250
