There are a lot of things which come into consideration when rating a PSU...
It can be easily said that the CM 600w has less efficiency than the VX 450..so it gives out less power..
but other factors are also responsible..

Check this guide out..
http://www.techenclave.com/pc-peripherals/corsair-vx-450w-vs-coolermaster-extreme-128757.html

VX450 beats the CM 600 hands down..:ohyeah:

A version lower than the FX380 is FX370, and a FX370 LOW PROFILE edition is also there..which is a bit slower than the normal one..

.

Will this LOW PROFILE one make much diffrence in perfomance!!?

Q) Interested in Crossfire/SLI?
A) No. Have only one PCI-E slot on Mobo.

Can you please tell me the wattage rating of your PSU, i guess you have told me the Volt input output rating..
And if you are planning on getting a HD 4670 and cannot invest much in a PSU..
You can get a FSP 350w or zebby pro 350w for 1.5k..
and if you want to invest even less..
you can buy one of those intex/iball 450w PSU..they retail for 0.5k...but they have extremely low efficiency and are not recommended..

In that budget, your best option is the HD 5670..
Its DX11, so it is futureproof as you want..

But to be honest, as you do hardcore gaming and that too on that resolution..
you should increase your budget and get a HD 5770 ~ 9.5k..
It will be worth the extra investment..

Your monitor has a max. resolution of 1600x900 AFAIK. For gaming at that res. and within your budget, see if you can find a used HD4670. Until you change your PSU to something better, HD 4670(4-4.5k new)/5670(~5k new) is as far as you should go.

You really should go with a 5770 at the slightly higher price. A 5750 won't last for long if you game seriously at higher res.

What u mean by the above red marked line..will i get my card burnt? :(

 He means that games future will get more demanding and the card will be unable to run them at full HD resoultion at decent frame rates. You would have to lower the resoultion and the settings in order to play latest titles at a acceptable frame rate(without any sluggishness) in say a year or so with a HD5750. Hope u got what he meant now :)

No game will cause physical damage to any card.

Your PSU is enough for all low-mid range cards...
It will be a better option if you opt for a second hand HD 4670 over a 9500gt..
HD 4670 is faster than a 9500gt, its comparable to a 9600gt..

Re: The Graphic Card Advisor

Hi all ,

After reading this thread , I think its a good place to ask some question before upgrading my 3 years old MSI 8800 GTS 640 ...
If anyone help me it would be great to me...I am trying to stick to the template as long as I can...

What is your budget?
Rs22,000 to 25,000

Current rig Specs
CPU --- Intel Q9550 (Stock)
Motherboard ---- ASUS P5Q-Deluxe
RAM ------ 8GB 800MHz DDR2
Monitor --- DELL SP2309W

Which PSU/SMPS will you be using?
Corsair 620HX

Primary use? (Casual gaming, Hardcore gaming, Just for display, Movies/HTPC)
Hardcore gaming of course:P:P

What resolution do you game on?
1920 x 1200

Interested in Crossfire/SLI?
NO

Open to both Nvidia/ATI?
YES

I am from Kolkata , so before giving your suggestion please remember , in Kolkata any high end peripherals is hard to find:no::no:.So if you suggest a card , then please tell from I can get it here in Kolkata:cool2::cool2:

My personal wish list are ATI 5870 or Nvidia GTX470
But can not finalize ,

ATI 5870 has much better shading power , but GTX 470 has more tessellation power. (In future is there any chance that ATI can improve tessellation performance on 5870 ???:huh:)

CUDA , Physx are all in Nvidia team , ATI only has stream

Nvidia's VP4 is much better than ATI's UVD2

Nvidia is power hungry , hot (very important in Kolkata climate)

ATI 5870 is expensive

But in raw gaming performace ATI 5870 wins

So whats your suggestion

Brand prference
for ATI 5870
1> PowerColor
2> XFX
3> Safier

For GTX470
1> EVGA
2> ZOTAC
3> ASUS
4> MSI

Wating for your suggestion:):)

Id suggest you should go with the HD 5870(XFX or Sapphire, both are good)...
I dont think you will be using CUDA but you will have to sacrifice PhysX here..

The thing is GTX 470 runs very hot...and you being in kolkata...It will be on its extreme, and you being a hardcore gamer, wont be able to game for a long stretch..
So its better you stick with the HD 5870, its an amazing card, will work on your PSU without any problem..
No idea on where you can buy it in kolkata..but you can get amazing prices from dealers on TE.. :)

4. Primary use? (Some 3D Graphics, Casual gaming, Movies)

7. Open to both Nvidia/ATI? yes

presently having a 256MB XFX GeForce 8400GS. i want to change it with better performance card which will not be oudated in the recent future.
