Plz help me with upgrading my GPU

1. What is your budget?

GFX card 5-6k

No plans to upgrade the PSU

2. Current rig Specs

CPU =core i5 750

Motherboard = Gigabyte p55 USB3

RAM = Patriot 2gbx2 (4GB) ddr3 1333 mhz

Monitor = 19" Dell (1400x900max)

XFX 8600Gt 256mb DDR3

3. Which PSU/SMPS will you be using?

Priya 600w :no:
Boss first change that cr@ppy PSU if u plan to save the costly components of ur rig.

I would suggest the following,

Sapphire HD4670 512MB GDDR3 ~ 3.8k/Sapphire HD5670 512MB GDDR5 ~ 5.1k

FSP SAGAII 400w ~ 1.9k(This upgrade should get higher priority)

thanks in advance
gr8 thread..

You seriously need to get a better PSU..
You mentioned that your PC will be always on..
with your Priya PSU..your every component is at risk.

Get a FSP SAGAII 400w ~ 2k..

And for the graphics card..
a HD 5670 ~ 5.1k
or
a HD 4670 ~ 3.9k (If you are low on budget after you get the PSU)..

You are running a core i5 system..
Please dont risk loosing it..

It will be a sloid investment if you have money for it. It wil handle quite a lot of your other upgrades as well.

Thanks to you. :)

About making it a sticky..
that would be awesome..

okay guys i got my hands on HD5450 1GB DDR3 :D and it says upto 2.8GB HYPER MEMORY support what dose that mean ?? :)

gpu share memory from ram if they want !

so that is what it is :)
but i think it happens if both memory are of same class, i mean ddr3 on both gpu and mobo and is not possible if mobo and gpu have different memeory like ddr5 gpu and ddr3 mobo,

am i right ?

ohhh still some confusion over the "hyper memory support" i guess?!?!? and overall how is sapphire HD5450 ? ? anyone got any experience of it ?? i just played "COD: World at war" and it plays good at optimal settings no lags of any kind... and any heat issues ?? i googled it and the reviews were of only old cards with DDR2 and 512 MB ....

You were suggested it before and i guess you made your mind to get it too..
nevermind..
congrats on your purchase.. :)

Dont worry about the hyper memory..its just that the computers memory can be used as additional video ram..
same as...storage space can be used as addtional memory..
It hardly makes a difference..you already have a 1gig card..so dont worry about it..
