Config: E6600,2GB ram,VX450W PSU,19" monitor

Current GPU:8800GT

Budget:upto 8K

Games To be played:BF3,Arkham City,MP3 all the latest games which are gonna be released

So please suggest me a great card in that price range
 
Better wait for 3-4 moths amd hd7xxx series is to be released soon,if you are in a hurry then stretch your budget to 9.2k and get msi cyclone R6850.Don't worry about the psu it can run 6850,cause i am running it.

how is gtx550 will it be a significant upgrade from 8800gt?
 
If you have to get a GPU right now, the 6850 is the best bet.

Yes, the gtx550 will be a good upgrade from the 8800gt, but it doesnt make sense with the 6850 available just for 9.2k.
 
Better add 1k or so more and get msi hd6850,it will be better for future if you change to full hd resolution.
 
if i get a 6850 now and suppose the new 7 series cards get released next year,would they outperform 6850 and cost much less?

would i regret buying a 6850 then?
 
It depends on the hd7xxx series performance,i don't think hd7xxx series card which beats 6850 will be available for less price then 6850 as they launch,but better wait than regretting it later.
