GTA-IV PC Tweaks/Fixes

I have very less to complain & more time to spend in completing the game. It's so bloody amazing. The storyline & the humor breathes new life into the game. Not to mention the top notch AI & the physics effect. If only Rockstar would have pumped enough time in tweaking the performance & adding AA rather than crying foul over pirates & employing enhanced protection measures, they would have had a stellar hit for the PC version as well. :)

tried a bit last nite...joined thru the phone menu(any other ways to join?), it was only with 4 other ppl....and bcoz of the vast map, it was lotsa runnin and little shooting. Wud b fun with more players though.

Copy is legit, patch applied, happens both ways, launching through R* social and directly from Launch app. I've applied the command line fix also.

Please please help me out!

my copy is legit

8.12 x64, directx, +net compact 3.5 sp1, vc++ runtime updated thro MS site, command line applied, shadows=0,rest all from dinesh txt file

patch applied, running superbly, only running offline profile, used live only to update patch

My PC is freezing sometimes as well , yesterday and today morning I played without any problems using the offline profile.Have to do a reboot , keyboard also freezes. :@

Today after afternoon I played using Online Windows Live a/c , and this is happening.

It could be due to $$$ Windows Live.Gotta check again while playing offline profile , does this happen or not. :@ :@ :@

I am running with these settings with avg 30-35 fps in game , benchmark says 45 fps avg. , benchmark is crap.

Yes! The exact same issue! :-/
 
It is due to Rockstar Games Social Club. Wait for some time , the computer comes back to life. It never got stuck in game for me, but it does hang up when i have shut down the game. If you have the RGSC shut off , it doesn't' hang.

@Anish - That problem is being faced by everyone. You must be seing stuff missing on roads, buildings appearing out of nowhere etc. That is still to be fixed by rockstar.

Damn with View Distance 99 , it is running smooth for you , how ?? :S

Even shadow is 16 :P Also Vehicle Density @ 100 :P

look at my siggy yaar. i start with 40 Fps but 2 minutes into the game i go to 15-22 FPS.... this is the worst game i have played on PC :E cant go past that 20% hurdle becoz of the frame rates... the patch has deteriorated the game for me. earlier frame rates dint go below 25 .. now its 15-25..

what are your settings?maybe the vram fills up and then it starts using sytem memory so you see such slowdowns.
 
u wont believe...

any setting i try after patch....

the last i tried was

800*600

everythin low

and it still dipped to 25 constantly and maxed to not more than 32..

this is a crap game !
 
Thats true, I get the same fps at all resolutions. Fed up of it and will wait and see if any upcoming drivers can fix these issues.

I don't have the mising texture problem, only the game freezing up. And no, killing RGSC doesn't help!
 
^whoa...thats really screwed up...

btw..im havin problems wit live..
i cliked "join live"..it downloaded my profile...
went into the game and tried to start multiplayer thru phone...but it said im not logged into live...wtf...
i tried to login again..but suddenly...game started loading 1st scene again "the cousins bellic"...
got scared ill lose my progress, i alt+f4 'ed
started again w/o connecting to live and my saved games were as it is...

live seems to be really screwed up...
everytime it shows me only the "join live" option although i already have an account...
it should sign in directly..rite...
can neone help...
