Will the UMG1831 work with all 3g providers though? That is the question!

If it is unlocked it will work, there should not be any issues, i am using the modem for 12 to 14 hours daily non stop, have not faced any issues and temperatures are normal. 2.8k is a tempting price, i bought mine for 3k 10 days back.

But does it have an external antenna slot?/i think it doesn.

For E122 it was Rs 2250 on TE.....2499 on ebay !

^^ What is the advantage of UMG1831 over E122?

Just the 21Mbps as comparing to 7.2Mbps of E122, or anything more also, BTW do we get anything higher than 7.2Mbps with BSNL.

The cost of UMG1831 is 25% higher than E122.

Seems UMG 1831 is out of stock now ! All 5 sold out in 1 hr :O

BSNL does support above 7.2 Mbps in few locations as per some posts and speedtest etc screenshots in broadbandforum.in

Also TE members also got speeds of 1 MB/s for few hours with E122 which might be an indication !

Its not about BSNL supporting....if u r spending that much its better to get the UMG 1831 :)...just my opinion though

Tried to get a BSNL 3G sim from goa through a friend but apparently its OOS....so have to wait.

Is BSNL 3g recharge possible online?

I have been using UMG1831, one advantage of using a higher speed modem is that the peak load is less,no disconnection, hanging or heat issues, plus you are future ready, as and when the speeds go up in the next couple of quarters you can experience the same. The way the market is trending in a few months we will only have higher speeds modem being sold and bought.

Mine got shipped yday through DTDC Metro plus, so hopefully i will get it today :)
