10-20% of actual value is added as freight + insurance ? :O Also if we win a bid on ebay UK or want to buy from a fixed listing, what are the payment options we have. Does Aramex also make the purchase on our behalf for buy it now items etc ? or we have to take care of the payment ourselves ?

^ I don't know how they determine the freight and insurance amount exactly. But if you check my customs receipt that I had posted earlier, the actual value of item came to only 7.3k but the assessable value was about 8.9k. Although for phones, it wouldn't make much of a difference. 
No Aramex doesn't handle the payment at all. You have to make the payment and get it shipped to their address for auctions as well as buy it now items.

a package of mine which was supposed to be delivered today at the aramex address in US through USPS was not delivered as there
was nobody to receive it. USPS has left a notice at the address. now, am i supposed to do anything about this or aramex people will
themselves deal with it?

the package was delivered finally at 1 pm US time. it's not clear whether it was redelivery or pickup by aramex people.

called up anuradha @ aramex and was told that they will contact the US office only if it has been more than 24 hrs
since the shipment has been received at their premises and there is no update on their site.
