And coming to @aka007, the duty charged on mobile is 1.3%, shipping depends on the weight of the box AND the size. If your sellers sends the phone is SMALL RATE FLAT box, it will be 1 bls or 450 gms - so 10$. If the box is bigger - Medium Rate Shipping box, then surely 2 lbs. so 16$

In Shopandship after first 500gms its $18 so ICC is cheaper

But shopandship gives the duty receipt

BTW can you tell how to go about their PPO service , I have the same but never tried it out

what is this Unique Package Number and how to use it

how much total taxes like they have 15% service charges on duty and 10.3% service tax on service charges

17% Fuel charges will be levied over & above the rate quoted and 10.3% service tax.

so finally how much ?

Like i got a BB through shopandship (BB cost was $150)

INR 501 shipping and INR 136 duty and handling = 637 on a 500 gms packet

Presently quite happy with shopandship but for bigger items like laptop and such ICC seems cheaper

You dont seem to be happy with the duty fees taken by them , it seems

Can you please share with us the whether the duty paid was in consonance with the price of your product and duty rate

Duty rate can be checked from shopandship duty thread

Will help us all in comparing both services

The first 1 lbs is 10$, ( 450 gms) most of the cell phones come thru with @ 1 lbs.

regarding calculating what duty was charged by ICC. i dont have the inclination nor the time to sit and figure it out.

So guys, if you want to take a chance with costly items - without duty try shopandship. If at all duty is charged, they will provide you with receipt.

If you want duty to be paid ( we dont know if its paid for sure. i think thats where icc's margins come in from) the go with ICC.

One more thing. SNS ships from NY to dubai to India, whereas icc ships directly from NY to Mumbai - its faster. the difference i see is 2 days. So you get you things faster on icc . thats my feeling for now.
 
my question is which is the cheapest method. Reading the above post tells me iccworld is the fastest. But which one is the cheapest for a single buy. As SnS needs you to register with 5$ and then duty and customs and shipping. Whereas iccworld is only customs and shipping

Well, there are no direct flights to Mumbai from New York so it has to come via an intermediary point, its just that Aramex is being more transparent about it. But yes, it still seems to reach India sooner than Aramex, mine was shipped on Thursday night and reached India by Friday night and cleared customs on Saturday and forwarded to Chennai by BlueDart. :)

ICC is good for duty free

still waiting for my item.. i could have got it on monday like varkey but i didnt pay on saturday (damn me)....

so should have got it today. but didnt due to congestion. hope to get it tomorow.
 
I have an issue with ICC here. Ordered an HP TP during the fire sales on 24th Aug. The next day order cancellation mail came due to "Out of stock". Since then I've been waiting for Refund worth 7k but nothing so far. Got in touch with their Customer care numerous times but still no refund.

I'd paid through Debit card, account statement shows money debited to ICC World.

How to make these buggers Refund the ammount now?
 
call your bank . They are more prompt then these buggers

I got mine BN orders from debit card back in 9 hrs after complaining

Kept calling BN nothing
 
I ordered the Sansa Clip Zip through ICC world. They confirmed buying the item from Amazon on 7th Sep but haven't confirmed the Shipping of the item. At what points do they communicate with you?
 
Shipping a mobile phone worth $300 by ICC World. What would be the customs charges for that? Shopnship usually charges me around Rs200 including brokerage for a similar phone. After my recent adventure with Shopnship, thought i`ll give ICC World a try. Weight should not be more than 1lb.
 
Update: Still no REFUND from ICCWorld even after more than a month.

Have called up their CC many times, Miss Rahila or Mr Sanjay come across. Very un-professional attitude & issue is still not sorted.

I've had a very bad experience with them, would suggest you guys stay clear of ICC World.

While I will not rest till my amount is refunded. The matter has been brought to the notice of Police. A formal complaint(420, forgery, fraud, etc) will be lodged if nothing happens still. Will leave no stone unturned to bring these thieves to the book. The issue will be highlighted in the media too, will not let these crooks loot other innocent consumers.
 
Shipped an item with ICCWorld through their PPO service. Delivered the item within 3 days from NY to Chennai. Shipping and customs were reasonable. May have to switch from SnS to ICCWorld, if their services are this good.
 
^ Yep, their service is much better than SnS. The best part is that the local shipping is done by BlueDart.

Do they calculate shipping charges based on actual weight or volumetric weight? They charged me Rs2300 for a package weighing 2lbs. It seems they take the higher value to calculate shipping charges. Not impressed by their lack of transparency. Will better stick with ShopnShip. They are painfully slow, but their charges are clear and accurate.

^ Yes they consider volumetric weight and charge whichever is higher. I think it's mentioned on their site as well.
