To take it to the next level, they have asked info on all the people who have posted comments on the tut videos and even sent notice to twitter to reveal names of the people who have tweeted/re-tweeted the info on the homebrew.
They think they can take on the whole world.

PS3 cluster
The considerable computing capability of the PlayStation 3's Cell microprocessors has raised interest in using multiple, networked PS3s for various tasks that require affordable high-performance computing
Even a single PS3 can be used to significantly accelerate some computations. Marc Stevens, Arjen K. Lenstra, and Benne de Weger say: "Essentially, a single PlayStation 3 performs like a cluster of 30 PCs at the price of only one"
It is also used in Medical research
yeah..ur right i guess.. its tht big EGO for sony..hellgate said:^^^ the reason behind that is
1> SONY claimed that PS3 was unhackable. It seems that they have taken this on their ego.
2> SONY makes much more profit from selling PS3 games rather than selling PSP games.
But talented developers are in much shorter supply, and take it from one personally, who you choose to code for is much more of a moral choice.
The programmers you will one day be looking to hire are the ones reading the tech news sites right now.

The only problem I have with this statement is the pirates ducking behind the "but they removed OtherOS when it was an advertised feature". Face the fact, nobody used other OS (I'm saying nobody because 1 or 2% of your install base equates to nobody). They only used it as an excuse to "Jailbreak" the PS3, and EVERYONE knows that the only thing that happens once a console is hacked is piracy.
Oh and Sony still sells the PS3 at a loss. They make money on software licenses. It's perfectly fair to ban non-paying customers from their PSN service. Imagine playing SSF4 or MVC3 online against someone who hacked his console and has unlimited health.
