BSY, The most corrupt CM in the history of Karnataka as per Amit Shah. Its interesting how they apply different rules to different states when looking at Goa vs Karnataka. In Goa, they had no qualms about letting BJP form govt with bought out MLA's, but in Karnataka, they are being allowed to form it even without majority. They will horse trade or use threats and blackmail to get more MLA's on their side. We also know where all the cash that was meant to be in ATM's disappeared considering the kind of money being used for the horse trading.
In any case, Modi and Amit Shah have least proven repeatedly that the worst scoundrels of the lot like themselves will always get the most votes in this country. Earlier it was congress and now its BJP turn. The only real cure for this country at this point is that some natural disaster or disease would wipe out 80-90% of the population so that it cans start over again.

Well, That was not how it happened in Goa, is it? Congress was never invited to form govt and show its majority in 15 days. Now, congress + JD(S) is clearly showing their majority, but BJP is asked to form govt and given 15 days time. Not only can they use money, but since they also will have power in the state which they can use to coerce a few into submission through various means.

I know its not a closed chapter, I am asking why it was Manoj who was made CM and had to show majority in Goa through floor test, but in Karnataka, it is BSY who is being made CM instead of HDK or whoever the JD(S) + cong proposes. You know floor test can also be conducted after making HDK the CM? Whey the difference in treatment between the two states and in favor of BJP in both?
In any case, I blame the people more than any political party for the plight of india. If they are voting for people who will buy or can be bought out for money, then they deserve all the ill treatment they get.

The IE article says BJP had the numbers to form government faster than Congress. In Goa and Manipur. But that isn't clear as yet in Karnataka hence the floor test

Party with largest number of seats in Goa was congress with 17. BJP has only 13 and neither had majority. Yet, BJP was invited to form govt based on their claim of having majority after including the independents and and then do floor test.
In Karnataka, Congress + JD(S) is the same situation now, but BJP is given the first opportunity.

So, if defection is not going be be allowed and there aren't enough independents to horse trade and get majority, how did BJP even show a hand of majority to get an invite?
That baseless discretion is what is in question here. Discretion with conflict of interest and without regard for the law. On what basis did he invite BJP given the situation?

Neither does Cong+JDS, which is why Governor invited single largest party to form Gov.
The opposition MLA's can resign or abstain from voting, then anti-defection law can be avoided.
One thing is certain... BJP is not going to let go of Karnataka.

yea assuming... but since the Governor didnt offer them to form the Gov means they didnt have the numbers at the time.
Letting BJP form the Gov is currently the best case scenario BJP could have asked for... I dont think they will let this opportunity go... some how they will bring the half way mark within their reach
Supreme court already rubbished it in yesterday. anti-defection will hold even before swearing in. The only option BJP has to force MLA's to refrain from voting in floor test or to make them resign and conduct elections in those areas again.
