koolmainak's iPad sale thread - item missing from consignment

@Faheem--- Call up the booking counter and say that u can say online tracking is showing 455 gms whereas they accepted booking the item at 1.1kg as per the DTDC CNF. Just tell them you are going to file an FIR very soon as this is open and shut case. Also inform that you have informed all higher up DTDC officials and they will soon take stringent action on their franchise.

So the guy entered 1.1 Kg while preparing the docket slip and handing it over to Mainak, but someone flicked it before shipping it in the very same office.

AFAIK the details entered into the PC does not happen at the booking office itself (Vijayanagar branch here?). It generally happens at the Super Franchise which could be the Delhi Apex before the entire load is sent.

The seller can very well do something here if he has some contacts in the cops.

The seller should had taken some pictures from his phone, when he packed the parcel, infront of the courier office...

Spoke to the DTDC - ROHINI sec-8 booking office from where the seller shipped the package. Spoke to the manager as well as the lady who accepted the package from Mr.Mainak Aggarwal .

Both confirmed that the package weigh was 450-500 Grams when they accepted it from Mainak and booked for shipping . They say that the 1.1KG marked on the receipt is the volumetric weight for which the shipper was charged because the box length was much longer than what is accepted under their 500 grams norms. Also the manager said they had marked 450-500 grams weight on the box and receipt as well in a corner and 1.1KG was used only for calculation of shipping charges .

I guess things are getting really clear now .

Faheem, this seems to be a clear case of cheating by the seller. I think you should file an FIR against the seller and then let the cops take it from there. You should not only ask for a full refund but also claim damages. Such cheaters must be taught a lesson.

(Same thing cleared with a friend of mine who works with bluedart has a franchise at sion mumbai...)

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

volumetric weight should be taken in as consideration...

Faheem: Would you be by any chance having the seller's address or anyone else who has his address pls post it so that anyone else who lives near his place can visit it. My dad chetansha faced a Problem with bunnybhullar but it didn't work out.! Ask the dtdc guys the FROM address so someone living in his city or nearby night be able to visit him n sort it out in person

Oh bugger! Seems like we will have to blacklist this guy now and probably send someone in person to get a refund if he isn't willing to do that. Faheem, there are some members based out of Delhi - Anil, Dhruv, Arihant (all mods lol). Have a word with them and let them meet the guy in person and clear this out.

A request to all the members dealing in the Market section: Please do NOT deal with those having 0 itrust ratings and have them ship the consignments. Instead deal with them in person.

Please tread very carefully now. I hope you have all the details of the seller. Please call up the seller right now and let him go to Rohini Booking center and tell him to give u a call from there. Ask for an immediate refund. Volumetric weight might be a trick by the booking center. So please have a talk with the seller and after that let him go to the service center. Also at the end of the day if its not clear mail the reply to the dtdc contacts.

Faheem, I hope you have all the details of the seller. Including personal email id, address etc.

Ok we need to have a new market rule soon for ppl with less than 5 itrust ratings. Like in Heatware the seller needs to ship out and buyer needs to receive the item before money is paid. Otherwise payment through ebay Paisapy or other similar escrow systems. I know this is bad for new people. But really TE marketplace is becoming a really risky place to deal now. I know some old and some even known and respected members had also gone rogue before but surely we need to get something done.

Talk to the seller rather filing a fir with cops against him..

I guess seller should be given some time to prove himself...

May be he breaks in and accepts his mistake what he has done.

^ I second that. I am not completely against the seller .I would still trust the seller more than trusting these DTDC guys . Haven been trying his number but no answer .Will wait till tonight and try to first talk to him and get things clear instead of pointing the finger at him .

Waiting for seller's reply,he should refund the complete amount even if it was stolen at some place as there is no fault of faheem in this fiasco.

Just spoke to seller. He says the booking office guys are lying .He said he will visit them tomorrow . I told him whatever needs to be done has to be done today so please visit office today itself and clear things up . Have also asked for a complete refund of the amount that was paid to him ie -Rs.15000 . He said he will first speak to the DTDC office guys and then get back to me.

Faheem, tomorrow is Sunday. I think this person is trying to buy time. You need to be firm. Whoever's fault this is, in his sale thread, he mentions that he is going to give 7 day testing warranty. Technically, since you did not receive the product at all, you are entitled for a full refund. The sooner this happens, the better.

Yeah ,seriously let the seller sort it out with the DTDC ppl ... It is a good probability that the dtdc are now lying to save their own ass..

Let him sort it out . You get ur refund in whosoever be the fault :cool2:

+1 @above

i dont think it might have been the seller, cos if he wanted to con you he would not have given you his bank account no. for cash transfer nor his phone no.

Unless he did not expect you would get all this info from the higher ups
