koolmainak's iPad sale thread - item missing from consignment

@asingh, thats true bro, but i feel that he can come over here and can't justify his situation as he had justified to fahim, thereby proving us wrong. I am not speaking against the seller, but from the whole story, i am bit inclined toward the seller
Even he had time to visit dtdc office today itself and post here

just saw this
my story being repeated i guess

anyways dont blame the seller as i was in my case
i thnk when someone is agreeing to buy online and thru courier then both buyer and seller know the risks involved and both shud be equally responsible for any untoward incident

its not ebay that the seller has the sole responsibility to deliver the goods

but these incidents are out of any sellers and buyers capabilities and a huge headache when faced with....

i request all members to just help constructively if they can and not form any opinion about anyone whom they dont know personally....

hope this gets solved soon

There was one post i noticed on the other forum. Poster said DTDC refuses to ship phones because they cannot guarantee safety. So ppl don't list the item as phones but some electronic item. Now if the company itself don't do phones anything more expensive is really risking it.

But then there are ppl that get away with this and the order reaches safely, on the off chance something gets lost then lots of complaints are generated. So DTDC may be the cheapest to ship with (other than the post office) but when the item is pricey is it worth the risk.

So you repack many times and sign all over to make it safer. I still would not be comfortable with the risk here.

Gathered that DTDC is fine with letters but parcels are iffy.

Hey guys, here's the post from my side.

I was sitting for an interview when I got a call from Faheem. After my bad interview :( I called Faheem and asked the matter. He explained me the complete incident which he stated in his above posts. Then I called up Mainak since I met him at DTDC office, he told me, in fact assured me that he'll deposit money with the first ray of sun on Monday. In fact he was quite disheartened by the fact that everyone on TE is blaming him and asking Faheem to lodge FIR or so and on the other hand he lost his Ipad. He also stated that if TE guys has lost trust over him then he can meet me (Mayank) up tomorrow and hand over all the amount to me so that everyone gets relaxed and I can transfer the amount to Faheem.

Overall, I felt very bad that maximum members here are just declaring seller FRAUD. I'm not pointing anyone specifically but I've read all posts and came across few ones who are simply declaring seller as fraud and mentioning that he should be sent behind bars. Oh come on guys, don't be so arrogant and short tempered. And most importantly, all such posts should be marked as spam as it has nothing to do with this issue as it is not solving the problem in any aspect. I'm very much pleased from Asingh's (Anil) post that he posted down all the possible reasons of seller not replying to this thread. To that list, another thing I want to add is if seller replies on this thread then I'm dead sure that maximum idiots will bash his post and will keep on spamming this thread.

All I want to say is, just chill and give seller and buyer time to solve up the issue. In fact I'm also coordinating with both of them by talking with both the parties on other's behalf.

@Faheem

As Mainak told me that since TE members has declared him a fraud and given him sentence for imprisonment right here so he can hand me money by tomorrow. So if you want then I can take the money and hand it over to you.

At last I will again say that, come on guys, grow up, also understand the feelings of seller too, he'll be at complete loss at the end of the day.

How did the courier guys let you open the package before accepting/signing it? they never allow me to :(
Exactly my thoughts, something is amiss here, this shows their reliability.

True.

Sellers's first deal with 0 trust score. he loses 15k. That is more sadder than anything else. And he agreed to refund it full. He IS the bigger guy here.

People harping that only folks with some itrust score needs to be dealt with should take a hint from here. Scores means squat.

it was really a bad decision to call up the higher dtdc officials before tackling with the franchisee
i waited with and tried to resolve the issue from lower level becoz once pressure builds up from higher authority then the franchisee guys will never agree to their fault as it may draw action against them!!

i once again felt that the seller shud have been given time to deal face to face with the franchisee manager...
in my case atleast Imrahn gave me ample time

now i wud still ask the seller to talk softly but firmly with dtdc franchisee of all the actions u can take

1. ask them to lodge ur written complaint and sign it with a complaint number!!
2. tell them u can go to police but u wud love to settle this personally
3.tell the manager that u wud give a cash reward of few thousand if its recovered (in any case u are losing much more!!)
4.finally my advice wud be not to threaten them from 1st encounter

those members suggesting about police fir dont know a thing abt how police works and in most probability they wont give a damn about such incidents, they wud just plan how to get some bribe out of both the parties!!

hope u tackle it easily

Really sorry for both the parties for the loss. I think we've had enough with DTDC and would strongly recommend putting up a big disclaimer in the market rules or somewhere to avoid DTDC like plague.

You know what, out of the 200+ consignments I have sent over DTDC (that includes iPod Touch, cellphones among other hardware), I have never lost a single consignment in transit nor have experienced a theft (so to say like this instance). It all boils down to declaring the item properly, packing it well and if required insuring it.

I'd still trust DTDC in the future unless the buyer urges me to use another courier service.

^^ hmm You are one Lucky guy :)

i have done lesser amount of onine shopping and couriers and all but

Out of the 15 items i have sent via DTDC, 4 were lost! luckily none of the things were really costly!

And Also now i have lost 2 Dove packs which ebay had sent me :p

Hopefully, Paisapay would give me money!

Deposited 15k into Faheem's A/C..

Lesson :

1. I will never ship via DTDC again.

Thanks who supported me.

Thanks Mayank , Faheem ( He was polite till the end )

mainak,

I was following this thread.

one thing that comes to mind first.

you are honest guy.

faheem and you both behaved very well throughout and

you must screw those DTDC bastards.

@koolmainak, sincere apology for my against post

Thats a good move, why don't you screw those dtdc guys. They still made a mistake in the wight part of the parcel

I'm glad to see that Mainak has issued a full refund to Faheem. I would request both of you to not give up hope and keep fighting against DTDC to recover the stolen iPad.

The complainant cannot register the F.I.R. as a theft unless there is a proof, it can only be registered as "LOST ITEM"

the thing wasn't delivered to the recipient....has it gone for a cup of coffee with an iphone?

a case can be filed....

and mainak and faheem should screw these guys...
