^likewise maggi fans can still consume their fav noodles+its also less hazardous+doesn't affect the people around you. you forgot about the other part of my post. Maggi packages can still carry the MSG presence warning (if it REALLY does based on authentic and legitimate lab tests). People who are really concerned about their health will avoid it, people who love it will still buy them, the govt will have lesser headache and the media can go back to reporting other nonsense. Everyone happy. My opinion still stands, i'm gonna continue having maggi.[DOUBLEPOST=1433511387][/DOUBLEPOST]damn. Got ninja'ed. Ignore the '^'. And yes MSG is ajinomoto which is like the core ingredient on food which i eat. Too much consumption of MSG may be dangerous, yes but why are people raising their pitchforks against only Nestle/Maggi all of a sudden? Tune in next time for the answer.

FYI, Every thing you eat in a road side stall to a five start hotel contains MSG. If its a salty/masala based dish made outside your house and its tasty, doesn't matter whether its North Indian, South Indian, Chinese or Western style, it contains MSG and let me assure you there is now way for you to find out how much MSG they have put in the dish after its done and if you have ever looked at how much they usually put, it would definitely be less than any thing like instant noodles that you can purchase off the self. If any one has seen "Vah Chef", in one episode he explains how he puts MSG even when he is making an omelette. .

The number of people who don't know this is too damn high.

The point is even if you know, you are still not going to stop eating outside, once in a while chalta hai, if you cant enjoy life, what is the point! Everything in moderation is fine.

Now i'm waiting for news reports about some morons suing a street food stall owner for using too much MSG and thus demanding that he be paid compensation for risking his health to "hazardous elements". Ah...

The fuss is pointless.

I'd care more about the lead content than MSG. MSG is an additive to food but how the hell did lead find its way in Maggi?

Others are in queue
After Maggi mess, other noodle brands in hot water

how the hell did lead find its way in Maggi?
Lead was already present in Maggi it seems
4. Nestle India, however, has claimed that Maggi is safe. "The levels of lead found in them are well within the food safety limits set by the authorities.

i already answered it:
for years, packaged food labels have been mentioning stuff like MSG, aspartame etc as part of their ingredients. consumers never bothered because unlike on cigarette packs, food packages didn't carry any warnings.

I dont care about it. As far as it has served my hunger pretty well since past 15+ yrs and still many more to go. May be one batch has can out bad doesn't mean the entire line is faulty or to be blamed. Common govt. maggie is almost as old as Parle G. Stupid idiots illogically pointing fingers at Madhuri dixit and Big b. Total nonsense!

I will prefer to die by enjoying my fav. Maggie. Doesn't matter if the lead content is high or they have mixed viagra

^^ indian govt is too lame. don't blame/praise them. there must be some other reason why nestle is targeted because every packaged stuff has harmful stuff. even if the food is pure, the packing itself (mostly tetra pak) is lined with sh1t. if our govt is too intelligent to ban maggi then they'll have to ban everything that's processed in a factory.

I don't know whether Maggi contains a overdose of MSG or not, but I strongly believe that this is a deliberate smear campaign against Maggi and Nestle. There are dozens of other less reputed and dubious instant noodle brands, so why the limelight on Maggi explicitly which is the best selling brand? Why hasn't there been a comparison to a similar product of another brand. Do these so called bodies and the govt have any intention to do the same tests on the competing products?

By feeling is that this maybe a result of lobbying by competitors or there maybe other political reasons.

Its now banned due.

Top Ramen, Ching's Wai Wai, Smith and Jones, Yippie Noodles and Knorr are now where our hopes lie.

So, I guess its almost safe to assume that all this nautanki was to remove a major player from the market so that this faker can peddle his own wares. He gets a lot of black money investments from politicians, so it would be in the interest of these politicians as well to get rid of Nestle.

I guess govt doesn't mind people being poisoned with mercury in addition to lead considering that most of the stuff that he has been selling off as medicines and natural remedies already contain it.

The worst is: they are showing people holding an normal Maggi wrapper, and multiple flashes clicking photos. As if it is some radioactive substance or custom sized fake Indian notes, or some Mary Jane found in a ministers luggage. LOL.

I haven't been following this closely but iinm, Nestle hasn't yet come out in support of their brand yet. I was expecting something along the lines of 'We are committed to health & safety... our own tests indicate.... safe for consumption.... look into the matter...' blah blah. Any idea why they haven't done so?

Seems strange that they haven't, but have rather decided to remain silent. .....Or am I simply wrong & they have indeed said something to that effect.

Is this the reason behind maggi's issues?
