Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2 - Discussion thread

Paragon and Renegade points open up different dialogue options. Main story remains unaffected but side missions are affected. In 2nd game Paragon and Renegade points become so crucial that you may lose or win loyalty of a person which will affect your ending.

One shocking thing I came to know was, if you have enough Renegade points you could recruit an evil character you are suppose to kill in the 2nd game.
The evil character is Justicar's Daughter

There are also other things that are affected.

You didn't knew this?? :p I recruited that evil character coz it appeared more powerful than the other

I was asked to explore the galaxy completely, upgrade the Normandy as much as possible and play all the side missions as far as possible. Don't forget to import your save game files like I mentioned before! :)

w00t 10000th post - the first one ever! :p

yea, i didn't knew this. I came to read about it in forum and I was like 'wtf'. It is like recruiting Matriarch Benazia instead of Liara T'soni. There are many interesting things about ME2 which I didn't knew. This is definitely the best game of 2010.

Any important inputs that should be kept in mind while starting ME2 ?
I would just ask you play this game with your own intuition, do what you like and don't do what you don't like. If you want perfect ending play it 2nd time, but first time just play by your own self.

First time i didnt got the perfect ending. Sent the Thane in the ducts, he got shot when two teams met in between firefight and they were closing the door. Next time i sent Tali, she got a headshot while door was being closed. Who the fling pokes his head in when there are bullets everywhere. Then i didnt sent anyone with the survivors, So all of them died. After last fight Jack and Zaeed both died. I later found that if your team mates are not loyal in final battle they would die. So my first ending was as worst as possible. Ship was almost empty, everyone else was dead :p. So i tried 2 times and got it right the third time.
For Perfect Ending follow these steps:
1)Send someone with the survivors because they wont survive alone. I sent the Dr., Can't remember his name
2)Make sure the two team leaders are loyal, that is essential to their survival.
3)Send the Legion in ducts
4)Then when they split in two teams. I made Garrus leader of one and Thane for the other.(Both of them were my loyal)
5)In last fight keep 2 members which ar loyal to you. I chose Miranda and Justicar's daughter.
Tada... you get the perfect ending.

One more thing I noticed is that there is no proper middle path. Either you play Paragon or you play Renegade ....

I played the middle path and missed a lot of decisions because I didn't have enough Paragon or Renegade for their bonus options in dialogue. Example-
1. Recovering loyalty of Jack after picking Miranda when they both start fighting on this ship.
2. Picking Morinth instead of Samara.
3. Preventing Tali from being exiled despite picking the option of withholding evidence against her father.

Btw, I loved the Afterlife club music. Reminds me of playing NFS High Stakes back in the day .....

I believe ppl who didn't get the perfect ending are the one's who enjoyed the game most coz making mistakes are part of human life.

But if ppl get perfect ending without help of any guides or suggestions, hats off to them.

Preciesly. It was a strange feeling which I can't express, but you actually felt the loss. It was hard for me to come to terms that it was just a game and didn't matter. But it does matter to some extent. :)

The first thing I did when I entered the club was hit the dance floor. My Shepard is one groovy commander. :p

I got the wrst ending possible.. :p Almost lost everyone.... My commander was so sad :( thats why i played again and got the perfect ending on the 3rd time yay

I wanted to play it again as well, but I decided to live with my decision and accept it's consequences. I guess Mass Effect 3 would see my redemption as a true commander. :)

^^^Me too. And honestly, I want to see that worst ending Jason Bourne has got. And it would be very interesting to see what effect does it have on Mass Effect 3.

I can give you my worst ending save game if you wish :p

I have them backed up in my draft of gmail account.... Now, not even a hard disk crash can prevent me from playing ME 3 with my character :p

:D. I will try different endings after ME3.

Completed 2 missions and a few side-missions yesterday. :D

Mordin Solus and Garrus is onboard! Damn, I was so pleasantly surprised to know that Archangel was Garrus. Like a small kid who has got his long-lost toy from the stash back, I was jumping in joy. :p

I think I am done with Omega now. Completed few side missions given by Aria. Should head to better places now.

Hopefully Bioware releases an Ultimate Edition for ME2, like they have for Dragon Age, containing all the DLC's. But then I would have to buy it again :(
