Adi, you're forgetting Darky too... he hasn't even started the battle yet :D And I've run into issues with half my water cooling components stuck in US - the person who was to carry it found it too large :S Anyway, trying to find a way to get it down at least by end of month :(

Hava main goli chalana aasan hota hai bhai.

:P:P:P

look what just got in:

:P

0630 batch .... hmm i wonder how they perform?

(tonne of thanks to darky aand chaoss for this)

hmm.. Bad news..

Talking to him on GTalk btw..

His Heatsink, isnt touching the CPU at all. Lol.

IHS is totally flat.

Bad Heatsink, who'd have thought that would happen? Lol.

Bad luck follows him everywhere...

ohh that sucks ...... he must be sad ........

get some emery sheets buddy and get started

Hmm... installng now.... really bad idea to use little AS5 with stock HSF. No contact at all. My HSF surface is concave like Mallika Arrora belly :P

But neways,

doing 300x8 DDR2 750 4-4-4-12 1.3vcore (1.275V after Vdroop)

Installing windows.

hehe at least install windows before OCing ...... how is the temps btw ....

PS: nice sig ...... expression of ross, when he says "fine by me" was funnist lol

well windows is on, but the stock cooler and its base sucks big time.....

temps reach alarming levels fast......

anyhow.... this is my OC now, undervolted to 1.3V

^^ Thnx :P

1ghz OC done.... 58C idle temps..... needing gay amounts of vcore to do this (1.4V in bios, 1.375V or so real)

trying to run super pi.....will post if it ran ....

edit: SuperPi 1M completed.... looks like there is some home for me when i get the tuniq.

Okey... Since you have that friends thing going in the back of your mind... I will just do it once... Remember what Ross says to Rachel when she is on the Hospital bed delivering Emma......

PUSH.... Come on PUSH....

^^ karan, when i had 6300,i was using the stock heatsink that came with the thermal pad.Temps were low then. After which i slapped the Apogee. When i removed and reverted back to stock cooler,i used AS5 and temps were not as low.SO i guess the thin layer is too thin to make proper contact IMHO.Asky faced same problem.

SO as of now i guess it would be safe to say that anything except the stock thermal pad is a bad idea to use, what say ?

Oh and BTW,nice OCing, nothing close to your standards though....

Keep going pal.

Edit: Its good to see you got the Gskill,i feel really relieved now...lol

LOL @ Switch.... yea will push, and WOULD push if only I had some extra protection if you know what I mean :P

@Darky: bows..... I will be happy if I do 3.5Ghz stable. This is my first Intel platform and truely speaking, I am freaking out by just having to install the stock cooler.

@ALl: DOnt use the stock cooler w/o AS5. They are not made for each other. AS5 is for sandwitching between extremely thin mating surfaces, not solving fights between Adam and Eve.

Karan I will suggest you take the mobo off ur cabby...then fix the stock hsf properly. The black push pins should come out properly frm behind of the mobo.

I know its a pain to install this intel cooler..but still try it out.

Karan, I think I told you my first mount had idle temps @ 55C.... that was because I applied a very thin layer of AS5 (just as I normally did with my old prescott). I cleaned the surfaces and applied a bit more the second time round and voila, idle temps were 31C @ stock speed/volts. Even with a 25% overclock, my idle/load temps are 35/40.

Secondly, if you've added enough AS5, ensure the stock heatsink is almost glued to the board :D Even if it shakes a bit, it means it's not mounted properly (might be because of the sherawat-like-base lol) and you've got your answer for the high temps. In this case, don't re-apply AS5, just mount the heatsink again and see if that helps.

guys, i have done many remounts.... the Push pins are properly accross the mobo, so no issues there.

Anyways, I need some help:

Currently I am at:

350 * 8 1:1 @ 4-4-4-4 DDR2-700

When I run 3dmark06, i get a score of 2175 *unoptimized*

Is this normal?

Regards,

Karan Misra
