It's easy. Detect if the account is logged into from different IP addresses + locations simultaneously + too many different devices (combination of device fingerprint). How is Netflix detecting sharing.
I got the mail for account migration which is the forerunner for crackdown. But I am logged in two devices same IP.It's easy. Detect if the account is logged into from different IP addresses + locations simultaneously + too many different devices (combination of device fingerprint).
They're OK if you share within the same house but not with different houses even if it's your family.
BTW not implemented in India yet.
The check is not based on profiles only. It's per device location/IP.^^^ Once this thing hit India, All Netflix Love are Done. Nobody share their Home Network with complete stranger Online.
My question if the Owner of the account use the every ‘Shared Profile’ once in a month to watch something, Like a Movie or One Episode - Will it do then ?
The check is not based on profiles only. It's per device location/IP.
It simply works based on your public IP and device identifier as of now as not all devices come with GPS.Say If a Shared Profile person only watched Netflix on a TV Box - He never used any mobile or tablet, How Netflix verification will work in this situation?
Tailscale isn't as reliable as it was showed in the video. Plus I don't think they made a client for TV.
IP doesn't need to be the same always bro. Dynamic IP is an age-old thing everyone knows about and CGNAT has nothing to do with any of it.If the only two things they check are device identifier and public IP, then what will happen in connection with CGNAT and dynamic public IP?
This is very niche thing that less than 1% of Indian users will probably be capable of doing. I am in IT, surrounded by people who work in IT, and most of them have never heard of Tailscale or Wireguard.I mean we gotta compromise a bit to save money unless the additional cost is real cheap.
I meant to ask that sometime my location based on my IP shows 50-100kms away from my home, and it keeps hopping. How accurate is the location determination based on IP address?IP doesn't need to be the same always bro. Dynamic IP is an age-old thing everyone knows about and CGNAT has nothing to do with any of it.
The location of the IP needs to be same as one of the primary device.
Say your public IP shows location as Delhi then all connected devices must have an IP address in Delhi at least once a month. Ideally they can have the same IP once a month as the primary device.
Now this can easily be patched by Netflix by requesting precise location data (using gps) on devices like mobiles and tablets. Other devices such as TVs and computers may not have such strict restrictions since they lack GPS.
It's yet to be seen how exactly it'll work and what limitations it may have. It's not in India yet.I meant to ask that sometime my location based on my IP shows 50-100kms away from my home, and it keeps hopping. How accurate is the location determination based on IP address?
Moreover, many people would be sharing the same public IP and they might be having different NetFlix accounts, can that create any problem?
