deejay said:but Blade_Runner the much cheaper cpu bought from abroad will also be having "Full Warranty". infact for some guys it is much cheaper to get replacement from abroad then spending more time and money running after the local dealers here .....
goldenfrag said:What if i get a bad stepping? Else should i spend 17.1k + tax, thats like 3k more, on a 165 from here. Funky's stepping...
I really have no idea, whether youd call funky's stepping good.
Chaos said:Okay Lets see how much the stuff would cost in India
Proccy - 17.5K
RAM - 8.5K
Hard drive 10.5K
DFI Ultra-D 8.5K
Total: 45K (could be lower, I've taken highest price possible)
US Price: 900*46 = ~41.5K plus bribing the customs guys.
Also the US price carries no warranty here. I'd rather grab everything in India. Risking warranty for 3K ain't worth it.
AM2 proccies, when they release, the 5000+ and the 4800+ are the only Dual Core's to be released, at launch. So give or take a few months, then youll see lower. So first of all affording a 4800+ or 5000+ will be impossible. Also, if they do come out with the lower end CPU's it means that the stepping will be bad, and that they didnt manage to get good yields and test them to 5000+ standards.
Plus, whats the real difference between AM2 and 939? DDR2 memory?
ignorance is bliss ....:tongue:goldenfrag said:Deejay, understand 1 thing..

Thats about it?
goldenfrag said:@ Switch.. Why?
The ASUS A8N32-SLI, has a Max VCore of 1.55V.
Plus it has issues with 1T Timings over 250 Mhz Ram.
Plus, why arent you using your ASUS A8N32-SLI right now eh? Why the Ultra-D? Hmm?
goldenfrag said:No, i was just asking why Switch uses his Ultra-D if the Asus A8N32 Sli is much better?
Anyways, Deejay re, dont make fun of me. I want a future proof rig. But i just need to know is it worth the wait?
What if i end up getting a bad stepping? Thatll suck.
No1 on TE would want to buy it too. Like if i want to sell it and get a better stepping. Grr...
goldenfrag said:Abbe.. Zzz.. Stop making fun of me. Please.
I dont care about the Asus or DFI right now.
What i care about is, Should i upgrade now, or wait for AM2?
