why not it's about $175 more or IMHO tell me is the 10k rpm worth it, i would prefer going for 300 GB sata 2 disk which costs about $130.

Also the raptors are sata 150 MB/s. I would have gone for sata 7200rpm at 300 MB/s any day :) but its your call do what you feel is more important to you.
 
Wrong! I have had 2GB high performance RAM for the last few months... I do not experience an increase in fps in games like Q4, FEAR, COD2 or MOHPA.
 
Were not talking FPS increase. I mean Load times.. etc... Play BF2, and FEAR.

They benefit the most.

Plus your P4 cant really do anything anyways..

Edit: Load times are not significantly faster with both the games you mention - why do you think I'm selling one of my kits??? Because there's no major loss even if I get rid of one kit. About my P4, show me one game that requires more than 3.0GHz processing power and I'll upgrade tomorrow :-D

man......... u think a 7200 rpm or even a 10000 rpm comes even close to saturating a (measly, according to u) 150 MBps ? its just the max supported speed of the interface.......

and pls for gods sake dun compare a 300 GT 7200 rpm with 10000 rpm goodness. we r discussing whether RAID-0 is good or not. not 7200 vs 10000 rpm.
 
^^The peak transfer rates are just for benchmarks. What matters is the transfer rate at the end of the medium and more importantly, the latency of access. The 10K raptors 0wn 7200 rpm drives in that area. The difference between a raptor and 7200 rpm drive is night and day if you use it as ur primary OS drive. The performance difference is insane!

Did not mean to offend you, i was saying my two cents, hope you dont mind.

Maybe i have still lots to learn, especially from you :(

EDIT : Also, never saw the raid 0 part, can you post the link where goldie mentioned the raid 0 part or the post where i mentioned it :( thanks in advance for clarifying all my doubts, really appreciate it.

You said show me a situation, well there's a situation :P. In any case, 2GB makes a world of difference even in BF2 MP. The single player startup stuttering is non existent with 2GB.
 
The 150GB raptor has a price premium right now cos its just released. Not worth the price right now IMHO.

the 2 cents is worth a lot more if its from USA rather than from Australia......... if u know what i mean :ohyeah: :ohyeah:
 
makes a lot of sense to go with an ati crossfire chipset if u wanna work with ati cards. also will be good for the x1900 whenever u get it.

boy i envy ur opty, its cool, take it.

can u check out OCZ as a ram option. ive heard much abt it.
 
No... I just got screwed over twice...

The guy who was coming, said that he cant carry my stuff, and my dad said now as the Board cost's like 3000 more...

So my dad is like ill upgrade in May.

I tried to explain, that in May, theres no use upgrading.. But no.. He just wont listen... Plus in 12th im not gonna get that much time to game.

Gah, why doesnt he understand........

He says he doesnt want to promote my gaming even more by buying a better PC, so no more FPS drops. Thus i would play more. Hes right.
