OR - Apple takes them in , Inspects the damages , corrects what's needed and then ships out the refurbished/replaced piece to the customer , all a matter of how well you impress the guy at the conunter :p

Apple refurbs are essentially brand new. I had a 2nd gen. 16GB iPod Touch replaced once and they did it in a span of 2 days. But very prompt and communicative. :)

Most of us can only impress ladies(so hope female at reception).

Got this information from one ebay seller(personally met):
Apple keeps record of its product and once brought item to them for service they know from serial number that item is from Apple India or from outside. We(ebay seller) can give you bill but it has no utility as Apple will give you warranty by their online records.

Now, this is significant as some guys bought item of ebay and the product's serial number was already on records(registered).

There is a guy who is selling his ipod on another forum who bought his ipod in Feb 2010 but warranty as per Apple records was upto Nov.2010

In such a case, a bill is required to extend the warranty. Contacting Apple Support, resolves it. :)

I found new ones price as ~8k.

If that is correct if its under 6 months old ~6.5k shipped. If not ~5.5k shipped

For me that is too much of a download rig. i said that and i got a warning from a mod. :S

no wonder people say they just want to push around showing weight. geez.

I roughly estimated the cost of entire rig based on individual components as around 25K~28K.
 
Ipod Touch 8gb 3g (actually 2g) with iOS 4.2.1 jailbroken in excellent condition, screen guard from day 1, back has cover, lots of apps. Warranty ended on Feb 12. How much do I sell it for? Help.
