A 2 x 2GB Corsair XMS3 Kit comes for 2.6k now. :(

So, a quote of ~ 1.9k Shipped should be fine for your RAM Modules. But be prepared to drop prices as RAM prices are falling like anything these days. :cry:

It has an overheating issue when the CPU is not throttled and playing a resource intensive game. With throttling or a laptop cooler (with the base of the laptop removed) it runs fine.

Wondering whether to sell this or use it as an HTPC.

Selling a faulty device involves unnecessary hassles and lower prices. Better use it as a Download Rig...

so then, i was planning to get meself a new rig, then thought current machine ka kya kare...then thought of selling it only if price received is good, so here is the config:

CPU: Q6600 2.4 Ghz Kentsfield (Stepping:B / Revision: G0)

Mobo: Intel DG31PR

Ram: Transcend DDR2 800 Mhz 2GB *2

HDD: WD 250GB (Sata II)

Cabby: Zebronics Lava

PSU: VIP 420W

No Warranty. Purchased in Jan 2008 from Lamington Rd.(e-cube shop name), so 3 yrs warranty just got over (except for HDD which has 5yrs)

there are two Optical Drives. One LG and one Lite On, both Dual Layer's, but thing is their doors arent working, LG one's work sometimes. so will give these both for free, lol.

Condition of CPU+MOBO+RAM is awesome, Cabby has some scratches. CPU was never OC'd, since mobo doesn't allow OC'ing

there, how much would i be able to yield?

should i just buy a good mobo(say ASUS P5K/Q)? but i want to CF/SLi thgem cards(whichever i will buy) which none of the mobo's available out there have this feature....ASUS Maximus/Rampage boards are like wiped out from online vendors....

Nice thread :D I was looking through the market forum to put an estimate on selling my rig when I found this thread.. Anyway, I want to sell a very old CPU (without any other accessories)

- Date of purchase: 2005

- Source of purchase: Local

- Warranty remaining: None

- Condition: Working

AMD Athlon XP 2000+ (1.67 GHz)

Gigabyte Motherboard (7VKMP)

512 MB RAM

80 GB HDD (40 + 40)

GeForce 2 MX 400 (64 MB VRAM)

Floppy Drive

CD Writer

Internal USB Card (provides extra ports)

NO keyboard

NO mouse

NO speakers

NO monitor

It's just the CPU.

I know it's pretty basic, but it still works. Can run XP no problem. Never tried running 7 on it. It can be used for light weight office work and browsing.

So how much can I sell this for?

2.5k-3k max, but you should find buyers for it.
