Nvidia 4000 series cards

3090 at 1499$ comes down to the same conversion rate. 141500/1499 = 94.4.

Agree with cashgrab, they just want to clear 3000 series. If what they say of 2x-4x performance is real then it might be a little less crazy but let's wait for the actual performance data.
That 2x-4x performance gain claim is (probably) achieved using dlss3
Waiting to see what the native performance differences are like. Another downside which has become more prevalent is unoptimised games due to availability of insane computing power. Is this how they will force/phase out our 2xxx/3xxx series cards? (Game devs would not want that but can't say the same about the executives leading their companies)

Nvidia played reverse Uno card as expected.

Indian prices:
RTX 4090 - Rs. 177,000
RTX 4080 (16GB) - Rs.133,000
RTX 4080 (12GB) - Rs. 99,500

So looking at this i don't think new 3000 series card price will go down.
As said by jayztwocents, nvidia created their own demand for 3000 by making 4000 more expensive.

Yes. Previously the fe prices were cut down with 10k change. Let's see if the same happens here.
If these are the fixed price then i guess it will be a good idea to skip this generation even if the generational performance gap is good.

The 4080 is just a 4070 ti rebranded to justify higher pricing :(

Ain't worth it.... Also the 12GB isn't really a 4080. Those fcukers have reduced CUDA core count by more than 2000 in the 12GB version (7628) when compared to 16GB card which has 9728.
Also memory bus is 192 bit vs 256 bit and TDP difference of 55W.

The performance will be significantly different between the two 4080 cards.
I am happy with a 3070Ti for now or longer, unless there is Khujli. Plus 32 inch and 4k 144 Hertz monitors, especially IPS are expensive right now. There is an LG Monitor but its 27 inch and with only year of warranty so I'll pass it. But once the Monitors become a bit cheaper, the one I have my eyes on. I might buy the RTX 4XXX in future. Shame that there was no AIB partner in that event. Guess EVGA has left some bad press for NVIDIA (which they do not care about). With Crypto and COVID, they made a lot of money.

Reasons were also highlighted in the video, due to the crypto mining heights last year, and the consequent demand, Nvidia restarted production of the 3000 series cards as a stop gap for the eventual arrival of the 4000 series. Now, they simply have a lot of 3000 series on hand, crashing prices, and second hand GPU’s flooding the market. So they will keep the prices high until the stock of 3000 is exhausted.

Official pricing took it from nvidia website
4090 177000rs
408016gb 133000rs
and 4080 12gb is 99500rs

sadly but for those who are waiting to buy new 3xxx cards with price cuts will have to wait more maybe till march/april next year
looks like there is no chance that we are going to see msrp pricing of 3080 or below cards drop more than 5 to 10 percent
but 3090/ti may drop

This was bound to happen, just grab a decent used card. The used card prices are really good now. Recently saw 2 colourful 3 fan 3070ti 3 months old being sold at 40k which is a great deal imo, it's gone now though. There are many such good deals in FB groups.

Bullshit gatekeeping strategy to lock DLSS 3.0 with 4XXX series.

There might be some limitations/challenges but had they wanted they could have worked their way around it.

What seems to be the adequate GPU for running single player games at 1440p, High to Ultra with >60Hz (90-ish Hz) refresh rate for like next 2 years?

Which games... Cyberpunk is a whole other animal compared to something like Stray... Both Single Player Games.
AAA, I'd say 6800xt or 3080 grade.
Yup, mostly AAA titles like the upcoming AC and Uncharted, TLOU 1, Spiderman, Elden Ring, etc.

I have been planning to build a high-end (~2lac) gaming PC in few months, maybe Q1 next year (I have an i3-12100f+1650S so I'm not in a hurry). The usage mostly will be 1440p gaming. What should I go with, 3000 series or 4000 series?

This might be a mild hijack of this thread, but I think for 1440p gaming, you may be able to manage with less than 2L
My idea of a rig for the next 3-4 years would be:
AMD 8 core or Intel 6+x core (don't need more than these for 1440p gaming - need max speed CPU only for 1080p240Hz gaming)
(wait for price drop on AMD 5000 and Intel 12000 CPUs with new gen launch)
Suitable Mobo
32GiB RAM
3080 equivalent performance GPU at best price (nV price won't drop with yesterday's launch prices on 4000; wait to see if AMD can throw a spanner in the works)

Getting used H/W can save a ton of dough! My entire current gaming rig has mostly H/W bought off TE (Mobo / CPU + Cooler / GPU / SSD)

EDIT: Seeing you already have a 12100f, if you have a good Motherboard, just go 12600kf or 13600 on that!

A 4080 is now the same price as the 3090. Absolute insanity. In terms of performance per dollar, the 3080 and 3080ti at 50-70k makes much more sense.which is what I reckon they were going for. Hope AMD undercuts them. No hope for India tho. This is absurd.

Technically makes sense as with the 4nm process/higher clocks they are getting the required throughput for DLSS3.0 vs 8nm for the same hardware may be slow and laggy
No it doesnt. They couldn't optimize the DLSS 3.0 for the 3090/3090Ti because it is far slower than 4XXX series ? I don't trust anything they say anymore, until they provide a solid evidence on how their attempt at optimization failed.

Its ironic the whole point of DLSS is to prolong the GPU life every iteration & not end it sooner.

They went too far this time and even calling 4070 as 4080 12 GB variant so they can charge you XX80 prices.
