Online Game Deals - Steam, Amazon, Origin, GOG, Humble Bundles

Re: Steam - Ongoing deals thread

@Ethan: Thanks man. Download has only reached 34% after 2 days.

BTW, if anyone has already downloaded the whole Game+DLCs, it would be best if I can get the backup disks from there. I will obviously be paying for shipping and other costs involved.

Re: Steam - Ongoing deals thread

I don't know why, but I have never ever faced DL issues from steam. Pretty oddly, I have DLed games on near max DL speeds.

Giving 1 Advise, but I reckon most of you might already be aware.

- User can select DL location for game files. Typically it is set to US, but you can change it to Singapore or India. Mostly it will give at-least better DL rates.

to do that...

1) Open steam client

2) Go to first menu 'steam'. click on 6th option 'settings'.

3) Go to 5th tab, 'Download+Cloud'.

4) Select 'Download Region' which is near to your location.

I have currently Singapore selected, and it's working good.

Re: Steam - Ongoing deals thread

Me too, never encounter problem with DL, always what max my provider permits. (I am also on Sing-a-pur :p)

Ok, my borderlands download % went steroids last night. From 30% it jumped to 60%, which means the files from borderlands iso did work. :D

Re: Steam - Ongoing deals thread

GTA 4 is available for around 499 bucks from everywhere. Remember if you buy from steam you will have to download everything. But if they are also giving the DLCs that came out later for GTA4, I would consider it VFM.

Re: Steam - Ongoing deals thread

^ yes both the expansion and original are there in bundle........its totally vfm for 10$ ~ 500 bucks or less...... but i already have gtaeflc......:(

Re: Steam - Ongoing deals thread

I think in case of Single player games like GTA, it's better to wait for steam discounts and then buy from there. However in case of Multiplayers like BF BC2, by the time discounted games are available in steam, everyone would have moved on. Like now, I might have a hard time finding co-op partners for Borderlands that I just bought. Just imagine how tough it would be in case of full multiplayers. Is there any pattern in which steam games are available in heavily discounted prices?? Maybe some publishers always release their games like this like 2K has done with Borderlands.

Re: Steam - Ongoing deals thread

^Dragon Age and Dragon Age Awakening for $14.99 USD

and Dragon Age 2 for $44.99 USD

The 1st two are strategy rpg games with awesome story line and second is,well, can't say much, is a same as its prequels with hack-n-slash elements.

Re: Steam - Ongoing deals thread

Thumbs down. You can get Dragon Age Ultimate Edition which has DA:Origin, DA:Awakening and ALL the DLC's for just Rs. 999 in India. EA sales are getting boring...

Re: Steam - Ongoing deals thread

Mass Effect is cheaper than retail price in India. Mass effect is available for 299 at flipkart but ~220 from Steam. Mass effect 2 however is available for 699 at retail shops.

Guys is Mass Effect fun? I have never played it. I love shooters and am loving Borderlands but I don't want to buy a just a well marketed garbage.

Re: Steam - Ongoing deals thread

+1 for Mass Effect. Play it if you haven't !!
