Post your overclocks !

Darky, is it Prime stable at 2.65GHz?

what speed is your rig prime stable at ?

for me its 2.4 gigs with loose mem timings :( (cant really complain tho ;))

280mhz @ 2.5-3-3-7 and prime fails after 2 hours. think i m limited by memory and the max vdimm of 2.85 on my board.

woopsy.
Just came back from my friends place.
Prime failed in 14 minutes at 2.65Ghz.
Raised vcore to max 1.55.
Prime stable when until i left. That was like an hour and half.
Everything else is stable.
I will be removing the heatsink to mount starice on that chip tomorrow.
Will post exact markings on CPU, but it was 0518 for sure as i saw it with my own eyes.
Looks like 0518 needs more juice. And also he was idling above 50C. So will be changing his HSF tomorrow.

If u r asking me, then on my winnie Prime was stable till 2.55GHz (i think..) and on my Venice its 2.3GHz :D

Unforunately, my stepping is a bad one.... meaning, the winnies made in 1st week of 2005 are bad overclockers. I checked on the net......

Me touching 2.5 itself is a testament to my overclocking abilities....

Seriously, I am lucky to get this high an OC on air......

hmmm...i'm back :ohyeah:

here's my old deluxe, removed the northbridge HS using a flat screwdriver ( was glued with epoxy paste instead of normal paster ) pasted it on the southbridge..hehehe...

added a few heatsinks to the CPU Power MOSFETs ;)

now the northbridge has its own P3 HSF :P .

you can clearly see the 3 Pots at the top, all tuned and ready for the vmod. wish me luck guys :D will commence soldering in 1 hour.....

in the meantime, i'll try my luck at some more ocing on this board ;)

[Please its to request]
Darky , Do let me know if you managed to do go beyond 2.65Ghz on ur 3200+ Venice.
Also do let me know the temprature at 2.65Ghz at 1.47V & the cooler used.

Also i am assuming its a LBBLE 0518APAW
As you said here , That you might go home and check.

Also do let me know if by changing the PSU to a better one like Antec SP or TP wud help in better and stable OC's over 2.65Ghz on ur 3200+ Venice.

Waiting for for OC Updates with 18th Week Venice.

Funky bro what was the stepping of ur friends Venice which was not stable at 2.65
If you do know.

I know guys i am asking too many questions but i just cant help it.
Plz forgive me if i am troubling you guys.

here are my last attempts at ocing on this board.

first is a cam shot in the BIOS @ 2442MHz...restarts during windows load...refuses to boot at 223MHz FSB.....

this is a cam shot at 220FSB in windows...got the same problem again..hangs when saving the screenshot...stable until i saved screenshot in paint..then got this BSOD...( first time ever i got a BSOD in XP :( )

SunMysore posted 22.22 minutes later:

started the vmod...hehehehe

@ Quad ---- I think Darky is still running his Venice on a standard Heatsink and fan......

And Sunny ---- nice one there........ Post again with the results after the soldering and stuff.........

from Venice to San Diego and back.

Keep it at 1T. 2T sucks for A64. Thats why the memory scores look so bad. Even if it lowers your overall OC a bit, still aim for 1T.

Here is my update. 1T does not work with TwinMos. Tried loose timings 4-4-8 tried Vdimm at 3.0V. Prime bombs after 15mins. So the final config with my TwinMos is 240 x 11 - 2.5-3-3-8. 2T. Anything beyond this is not stable.
Tried the new Beta BIOS for A8N-E 1005.002, it limits the Vcore to 1.550. that is not a problem, has ability to tweak RAM settings further. ofcourse i tried the other options and didn't work either. So this is how high my sandy goes, till i get twister. Now the objective is to look for not high Vdimm memory, but high Freq memory. Native 4000 or higher. and see if it is a problem. The Venice is doing 2.71 and stable.
There were many queries, so here is the final setup.
Rig 1: A8N-E, San Diego 3700 @ 2.65 CABGE, Coolermaster Ultra Vortex, TwinMos CABD RAM, 300 GB Maxtor DiamondMax 10. XFX 6800GT @ 400 /1100. PSU: Coolermaster Real Power 450W.
Rig 2: A8N-E, Venice 3000 @ 2.71, Coolermaster Ultra Vortex, TwinMos CABD RAM, 160 GB Seagate Barracuda. XFX 6800GT @ 400 /1100. PSU: Coolermaster Real Power 450W.

But the 1T really boosted my sandra figures. So guys thanks a lot for your help. Will now try to get memory which would allow me to run the setup at 2-2-5 1T. and see if i can go higher on clock. and loose the divider :-)

Get TCCX RAM as none of those boards can go on high volts. BTW how much did you pay for those realpower PSUs?

paid 7900 plus vat. in mumbai. One is on approval, the other i bought. :-) needed to be sure, that it was the PSU, which was the limiting factor. Will return the other and shift to my old Antec Smart Power 350. One cool thing on the Coolermaster is that it comes with Watt meter which tells me the wattage consumed using a nifty dial. on specview it goes to 150. but other wise remains around 125. I know we are all talking about 300 and 500 watts, but this is what the dial tells me. and frankly i don't think its lying to me.
