Post your overclocks !

Guys do you feel the 1T issue would be fixed in the future BIOS releases
or its a Hardware issue with the Mobo Itself.

Because thats what limiting the 1:1 Overclocking on A8N Sli & ppl are thinking of DFI [i know that DFI has more than that to offer but A8N Sli would have been gr8 with that 1T issue fixed although it cannot match the perf of DFI]

@ Darky your overclocking results are fabulous

Just dont know what magic do you do.

Well said mask he will suerly reach that 3Ghz & 8000MB/s when his DFi arrives
or dont know will reach this magical figures on A8N Sli.

nothing is impossible for him it seems.

I dont think the 1T issue will be fixed with BIOS update. It seems more like a hardware problem, just my opinion though.

May be later Board revisions might fix that issue.Infact there is a mysterious Revision already out and available in India,Rev. 1.02a
Apollyon go this when he got a brand new replacement board.

havent checked whether it has that issue sorted out.

@ Quad,
Come on man,It's a good OC imo for a generic RAM.
Thanks for your good wishes but i dont think 3 GHz can be achieved as i am Vcore bound.
Also 8GBps also seems a distant dream as here also i am Vdimm bound,i guess.

Lets hope i can achieve these 2 with my DFI and Gskill/OCZ VX

yea, cool OC darky, well if that appo's board helps, then its time that u screw up ur board and ask for a replacement  ;)

What say? Good enough ? ;)

Nah, quite crappy ! But tell you what - PLEASE SELL THOSE STICKS TO ME :hap2: !

Great Oc-ing, Man !

Hey, listen to this. Kinda hearsay evidence since I don't have that board, but with 2 x 256 single sided sticks, the A8N-SLI doesn't have the 1T issue. That is, at 1T you could clock (the RAM) to 290 MHz. May be worth giving it a hard go (think I can fish out that reference from XtremeSystems).

Thanks man.
Now coming to your request, sorry i am not interested in selling those sticks.I dont like to sell cheap stuff to good friends. :bleh:

Also the 1T issue exists.
I have use Beta Bios Ver.1007.002
Now i had manually set it to 1T but beyond 250,it automatically changed to 2T

that was really funny imo.

darky shows how its to be done again
Yeah right, now you dont get pumped up and OC your PDP and post a screenshot of bandwidth more than 8GBps,its not allowed for you :P

I dont think thats needed as i am getting my DFI.... ;)

OK ! Imanaged to fish out that post. It's post #35 by member J-Mag (the thread itself is on A8N-E Ultra @ 1T):

Btw nice results.
Agreed, even early a8n-sli dlx, have shown 270-290mhz on single sided with a total of 512mb, it is the 1gb level which is having problmes with 1t.

Sorry, if this turns out to be a red-herring !

Also, wondering if it may not be the board per se but could simply be the Hynix RAM misbehaving in refusing to play ball with 1T. Anyways, you may know better !

The board i got is 1.02a. It does 1T at 250Mhz no problems.
But over that the it cant. This is way more than what many people got from their a8n sli.
And i think the problem may not be the board in my case. Its the RAM coltage. AT over 260Mhz it needs more than 3V to get it running at 1T. Couple of guys at XS got the RAM which i have running at 2.5,3,3,7 @ 330 Mhz. But they said that if you go over 260Mhz it needs more juice. but A8N SLI has maxed 3.0V on VDIMM.
Couple of other guys who have 1.02a have reported that they can do 1T at preety high frequencies. But not much feedback from many users.
And those who really plan to do come creazy overclocking go with DFI so not much data available on A8N SLI these days.
I was thinking of doing 3.3V VDIMM mod on this board. It does not need any soldering to do 3.3v mod for a8n sli,. this is probably the easiest board to do vdimm vmod.
But i am planning to sell thins board so i wont risk the mod ;)
Also darky in my case the board wont automatically go to 2t. It will do 1T or will lockup. It wont revert to 2t if i manually set it to 1T.
It surely looks like VDIMM limitations. But i cant confirm.
Some really good tccd chip may be able to verify but i cant get my hands on something like gskill.

cud u spare me the time n pain of searching n gimme a link.. please.. :D

Ya i too wud like to know about the VMod.

How do you check version of the board.[eg 1.02 etc..]

Might be the board will be updated by July [just praying] to get the 1T issue
fixed.

My Overclock done a few months back. RAM timings 2.5-3-3-6, P42.4C@3Ghz
Was perfectly stable. But I am back to stock now.

I guess you have the 2.4C,yes i remember that chip, was a kickass overclocker.
BTW,which board do you have ?

Anyways, best of luck for your future attempts.

@funky,
well i plan to keep my A8N SLI so i wouldnt mind doing the VDIMM mod. Please give me the link.
