use a bootable CD (dos).
first download the *.zip version of the bios. it will have awdflash.exe and the *.bin bios file.
In nero select the bootable disk method.

and add the above files to the burn.

and boot with that cd.
Then type awdflash {bios filename} /pn to update the bios.

to get more options type awdflash /?
(somehow in nero bootable disc (Caldera, DR.DOS) i got EMMS errors, hence i used my old win 98 bootable cd today for this m/b.)
or alternatively try to get the .iso image of the bios program from the net.

You do stand a chance seeing that you are already an expert at overclocking. Take credit where is is due. As of now, you are better and you know that.

Of course, knwoing DJ, he will read everything there is to be read abt oc'ing on DFI and with that Venice core of his, will strike hard.

@ DJ --- COngrats!!! Looking forward for your results.

@DJ and Darky --- Hey guys, I have an idea. Why don't you both get togther and overclok??? Darky, VX, DFI and VEnice would be super.

Or Darky ---- why don't you borrow DJ's Venice for some time??? Overclock it. That would give a true idea of Darky vs DJ.

I have seen some of his posts. Not at TE but at ASK TT. Also, he solved one problem I had with my HDD.

Now, that sort of knowledge cannot be accumulated in a short while. It needs lot of research abt computers in general.

And when you have to do something for yourself, you will obviously invest much more time and effort.

That is why I feel that he will research properly on ocing and do a good job.

Powered on my new rig this morning....

system running nice and cool .... so far .....:cool2:
now updating windows and then will restore my back_ups.
some pics i took with my nephew's mobile camera.

Yeah man that is a beautiful heatsink/fan.

Congrats on your new system deejay, that is a real beauty.

Give us some info on the performance of a Venice core too, and the heating as well.

I would also like to know some of the pricing details and how deep a hole was burned in you pocket ! ;)

Also, if your monitor supports, try running HL2 and DOOM 3 at 1600x1200 and post the results.

Once again congrats on your new system

I was doing some provisional temperature monitoring of the new rig.(assembled in my old , cheap case)
Ran prime95 for about 30 minutes.
The temps were more or less steady at 46 C.
(at no time the temps exceeded 48 C)
The idle temp was 38 C
The mem fsb was 216 mhz , (DDR 432) and the cpu voltage was default.

What voltage are you running those puppies at? Burn them in at 250 2-2-2 at 3.3V (the recommended setting).
Have a heart chaos ....:D
i am running my trusted ocz of 2 yrs vintage. (ideally meant for p4 , low latency platforms (i865 /i875) )
They are low latency ones meant for relatively low voltages. max around 3V.
and the max stable it will run is around 233 mhz @ 2.5 cas.
ps: although i had tried them at 3.1V till about 250 mhz @ 3-4-4-11 but on the third pass of memtest86 it gave errors on the test 6 hence i stopped testing higher speeds.
This month end i should get better rams more suitable for this m/b.
