Kinda old news, Moreover its an Injuntive,something to temporarily deter the spread of hack rather than something permanent. Its pretty weak as he hasnt developed any Hack so to say, he just leaked the Keys he found on the PS3 he owned legally :happy:
 
In India Sony would have just hired some goons and belted geohot on the street :D.....Why is US so filled up with lawsuits :P

Piracy ultimately erodes games. Look at the pc. Game quality are much much lower than before. Massive PC enthusiasts such as Crytek with their game Crysis are moving on to the consoles as well. Crysis is best played and viewed on the PC. But releasing it on the PC alone will only ensure that there is no Crysis 3. So piracy is one of the reasons why crysis 2 is gonna release on the ps3.

Sony should do its best to stop this.

@jojo --- --- I see the sale figures of all the game developer on PC platform is still on the increase only day to day. They are just getting greedy to pitch on the sales of PS3 and Xbox platforms where average MSRP is much higher and volume as well. Its totally a cut throat 30% YoY increase that all big gaming corps target.
 
^^ I think someone on MS BODs will be from the lawsuit firm giving them so much business. Everyone wants a part of the pie these days :rofl:
 
LOL it won't be of any use sony, all you will do is make the hackers more angry, and they might make something like the JTAG hack for the 360, and you will be royally fcuked :P

Source please. According to NPD, revenue from PC is just 21 % as oppose to 79% percent from consoles. Even in PC gaming most of the revenues from MMORPG, MMOs etc. Piracy is killing PC. Just see the quality of games released on PC this year.

The total global market for gaming is 70 billion out of which PC is now staggering at around 13 billion. Few years ago PC gaming was a dominant platform that is now replaced by consoles.
 
JB experts, need your help here. I am purchasing a second-hand, under-warranty PS3 GoW bundle. The owner has updated it to latest 3.55 FW. What are my options of running games from internal and external HDDs and what extra hardware I might have to purchase?

GeoHotz custom firmware or downgrade to 3.41 (provided the console wasn't purchased with stock 3.50 firmware). Both the methods are fairly new, so you'll have to wait till the stabilise properly.

Thanks...guess everything should 'stabalize' in 2-3 weeks. For CFW or downgrade, dongle would be necessary, right?

For downgrade, you'd require a dongle. But for CFW, any thumb drive would do.
 
Alright, I have been out of touch in this JB news.. and why the hell I always miss the action around PS3.. Last time I upgraded to 3.42 mere few days before 3.41 was jailbroken.. now I upgraded to 3.55 and I am hearing all the good news..

I am not sure what to do.. I installed geohotz cfw in a hurry as well..

Guys, where do I stand as of now.. I have no clue.. web is flooded with tons of information on PS3 jailbreak..

can someone tell me clear cut what is the situation now..

can i play games like people used to play with dongle thing.. without the dongle now.. after being upgraded to geohotz cfw..??

someone answer.. drhuv buddy.. i pinged u numerous times.. you ain't replying.. i guess you are busy helping people..
