^yes you can play on 3.55 cfw without dongle .. u have to patch the games which is a long process i posted a video tutorial on the previous page ..
 
ok some progress... i installed multiman.. and backed up gta4.. used this package.. and followed instructions.. but the game did not load properly.. kept getting stuck on loading..
 
^^ Did it really work for you without bricking? What exactly did you install or do? Please post a step-by-step guide if possible. Also, were you originally on the official 3.55 from Sony or did you directly install the 3.55CFW over 3.41?
 
There are people reporting that their PS3 bricked after installing the Waninkoko CFW.. mostly those who reported had the PHAT PS3.. some slim users also reported..

some reports came in where bricking is determined by the amount of flash memory on PS3..

we have a long way to go from here.. I feel PS3 will be like PC now.. install anything.. run anything.. do anything.. great work done by Fail0verflow Team.. funniest part was the random number generation ha ha ha :rofl:

Yes it worked for me without bricking.
Was using Geohot 3.55 CFW. 1st went into recovery mode and then installed 3.55 OFW.
Rebooted the console and started it normally. Then again went into the recovery mode and flashed to this new CFW.
Everything went smoothly.
 
so are you saying the backup managers are working and you can backup games and boot them from the manager itself.. without the need of the Disk in tray and any PSjailbreak/clones.
 
no videos out yet on working backup manager.. RDR and Black OPs will be ready by tomorrow.. can't wait to play them...

by the way back on stock 3.55.. wasn't able to play GTA4 because I messed up with saved game data via ftp access.. anyone have saved GTA4 at around 50% completion.. I downloaded one from internet but that is 30% done.. which is way back where I was..

One more thing.. an ideal PS3 scene 1 year from now...

Like my PC.. PS3 would be running 24x7 and downloading games and movies off internet directly to my PS3 HDD.. and don't have to patch anything at all.. all games work fine without any issue... wat say??
