ok .. So i just got my ps3 and to my utter dismay it is 3.66 :(. I wanted to check out psn and other features but it is asking me to update the firmware. Guys what should i do ?? if i update and a jailbreak for 3.66 is released than i will be at loss . Please suggest ..

But you got a beast of a machine none the less, now ull be able to appreciate the games you play more coz ull pay for it.
Coming to your question, nothing can be surely said, it can or it may not! So i would advice you to proceed depending on ur requirements, if u want psn..upgrade it and enjoy!! else if you are primarily interested in playing golden games like mgs4,gow3 etc, u can play them without upgrading and maybe in the meantime we'll get a new ps3 CFW :)

You've no doubt read about JB-King ... it's the jailbreak dongle that closely resembles that of True Blue. But what you should know is this: The downloads at JB-King are seemingly riddled with viruses, namely FlySky.AD and Win32/Nuj.A by the sounds of it. This according to reliable sources by way of CrashSerious ... a respected PS3 developer.

So what can you do to ensure the safety of your computer's well-being? Don't buy JB-King and don't download their files -- it's that simple. Instead you can buy the True Blue Jailbreak Dongle here (they're trusted) or just wait longer for a software jailbreak, which is bound to happen sooner or later; KaKaRoTo has made progress in that regard ... just don't ask when -- stay patient.

A CFW you mean? There may be but nothing seems to be concrete at the moment in terms of development. Random folks keep pouring videos about hacks but nothing like the 3.55 CFW. Maybe we ought to give it a bit more time.

Too late QC! You could have picked up a console with a hackable firmware even during November. Don't lose hope though. You can still find one around or try the Market section.
 
Highly unlikely, that you'll get these 2 games bundled. You could probably visit a Sony showroom and get the console directly from them. Chances are, you might end up with a 3.55 or lower firmware. If not, get a used copy for both the games. Either way, the console with be worth it. All you need to have is patience. CFW will eventually be created and when it does, you'll have the console ready for it. Dude, I bought my console without any remote sight of a custom firmware/JB being present. It was an 8 month long wait before I finally got it JB'd.
