Guys, I bought Red dead redemption GOTY recently, now when I launch it it says you need to have 3.66 to run this. I searched online but it seems as GOTY is new; there is no information around it.
Will such things can be solved with eboot; any place where I can hunt/request for eboot for this game?

Its a FW 3.66 game. Eboot FIX is not out yet. So you have to wait.
It is reliable. Yes it works pretty great. I myself will buy one i guess as there is no update about the new CFW. Not able to play any new games.

Another question. Any one played Heavy Rain (move edition), with out disk ? I have tried installing the pkg file but all I get is a blank screen after launch.(BDEMU is already installed and UC1 is running fine from backup)

Heavy Rain needs to be copied to Internal to run bro. So copy it on internal. If that does not help. Launch the game in multiman. Go to game before launching press select + x not just x. Hope both of this will solve your problem. Great game though.
It is copied to internal disk only, It runs fine with disk but gives me blank screen without that. No success with select + x as well; it just goes back to XMB. I have launch the game first time and have done the installation.
After this it started to show move screen in the start and than again goes blank
Heavy Rain won't work without a disc. There are some games that mandate a disc to be in the drive, this is one of them.

As ethan said it wont run discless. Some games require a original playstation disc in the drive to run. Run with disc shouldnt be a problem.

So there is no point taking backup of Heavy Rain, right ?? BTW this works from disk only; i.e. even if disk is there; it will not launch from backup.
I am also not able to run LBP disk less as well, when I change the eboot it shows me msg that "An error occurred during the start operation 80010009" (I have tried deleting game data and saved data).
with original eboot; all I get is a blank screen . (But it does launch from backup with disk)

Out of 5 games I bought and tried(4),
UC1 : working from backup
Heavy Rain: Not working from backup
Little Big Planet: Working from backup with disk inserted
RDR GOTY: needs 3.66 no eboot available for now
UC2: Not backed up yet.
Some where on internet I read that updating LBP game to its latest version should fix this issue; can I do that without updating my PS3 firmware?? I can see an update option in MultiMan; should I try that?
Why not just keep a disc in the drive? You don't need the same game disc to run any back-up. You mentioned that you had purchased RDR GOTY edition right? Then keep that disc in the drive and boot your other back-ups. The disc usage would be minimal, as no actual game data is being read from it.

Bro you are not getting the point. Point here is you need any Original Game Disc on your drive.
Advantages of keeping a disc are first your lens does not get dirty. 2nd you can play the game
I do not take out my disc of the drive only. So it does not matter to run discless or with disc.
You have a backed-up game on your PS3 on external or internal put a disc and run it. If it still shows black screen try copying internal or select + x or search of some patch or eboot for the game.
Ive played UC2 on backup on internal as mine was a split file so i had to copy it to internal worked with no issues. Heavy rain as well. Little Big Planet runs from external with disc. UC1 as well runs on external with no problems. The basic point is let a original disc be in the drive and enjoy your games! Caphische?
I am unsure of TB you know. Many of the dongles have gone kaput or bricked. Mere 1000 bucks do not matter but its heavily priced. 4200 on ebay. Even if you order from lightake the chinese site it will cost you around 3.2K shipped if opting for free shipping which takes around a month or so to deliver.
^^ But in that case; what is the point of backup ?? I mean why would I waste my disk space if it anyways work ONLY from DVD. Or is it something very obvious which I am missing here.

DUDE! You are running different games from just one disc in the drive. That's the point. For example you got RDR disc so you put that disc and you boot up any game UC1 UC2 etc. That's the point. I don't think a disk harms you? I never bought ps3 games. I bought a tony hawk for 400 bucks I use that disc. I bought AC1 and UC1 as I could not get its backups. So basically a disk is required to EMULATE the backed up game on that disk. That's the reason we use BDEMU.pkg. Clear now ?

errr, I understood that with some game there is no other way but than, ram_dante asked what I really wanted to do; so was telling him the basic query.
About why a disk is problem to me;
1) Working from backup means; less scrathes on disk and more life for BR player.
2) what is the point of having a JBed PS3; when you still run the game from disk,
I hope it sums it all.
