Official statement regarding the True Blue clone "JB King"

The True Blue team has received samples from the retail market of the True Blue clone "JB King". The device is not a 1:1 clone, as this is impossible without having the hardare source code. Rather the device is a poor imitation based on partial logs of traffic and guesswork of the logic.

The trouble with this approach is that the security infrastructure and logic commands are not fully understood by the cloners, which means that customers purchasing this device will not enjoy the full features of the True Blue in coming updates.

Of course, the first step taken will be to block future game patches from working with this clone. This weeks releases which include some big titles will not function with JB King as from True Blue firmware version 2.4 upwards.

The True Blue team has full control of EBOOT decryption and we can and will lock out any current and future clones. With many yet unannounced features to come, it would be prudent for customers to invest in a product with a real development team behind it offering continual support, thorough testing and providing the latest patches and features.

True Blue dongle firmware v2.4 is available from the downloads page. We recommend updating as soon as possible as this firmware will be required for any future game releases.
WOAH? These people are taking the 'SCENE' pretty seriously!
Now really thinking to purchase it. After this announcement.

Seems like jibber jabber to me.

Wont be surprised if i find a true crimson or a true violet dongle coming up in the future claiming even more undisclosed features which they held back just for kicks.

Whatever you say, cfw is bound to come out sometime or the other and will kick this dongle out of the scene and will be deja vu once again.

I bought Little Big planet, and create a backup of it. But it does not play with out disk. Can we do some thing about this? I searched and found that (may be) eboot fix is required. I have downloaded the file; what next?

Can I simply browse to the folder and replace the file ?? (the folder is USRDIR right)

Fifa 12 Fix for CFW 3.55 out. Pes 12 coming soon guys. Google for other info.

yeah installed fifa 12 but have original fifa 12 for pc so not much advantage but Things looking bright for the future!

P.S- It has 3 pkg files which when installed, installs the game on internal HDD!

Yes it is a PSN release. I could not edit my first post

Bug in the new TE.

If all the other games are released on PSN we might get them all one by one. in 15 days over 100 new games released through PSN!

Things are not that bright though for the CFW scene. There is no update on it. I think we have to wait atleast till Oct. as the law for allowing video consoles to be jailbroken will be passed.

I am aware of that. Apple lost and Sony won the case. But the earlier one is a phone and the latter a console.

If they do win then the console prices may go up again :-/

Plus the hackers spoiling online gameplay is another side effect

And in the end more and more developers dying and finally shutting down and go the PC way. If jailbreaking consoles is made legal everyone would shift to games like farmville and the only PC/Console games that would remain are MW , Battlefield , NFS , FiFa series etc.

^^ They are not. You wanna play online go ahead and purchase it. Who's telling you to get it jailbroken in the first case? The hackers aren't.

I use jailbreak as i cant spend that amount of money on games so i play ahem games. I am not an online player so it does not effect me in any way.

Your 2nd point is valid. Yes many developers are dying for obvious reasons. They invest so much in the game. But if you see the figures they still have loads of profit. As like online gamers will purchase games for DLC , ONLINE PLAY etc.

Edit : Jailbreaking does not always involve ahem games. Homebrew is the main cause of jailbreaking IMO. I use loads of homebrew on my PS3 for different purposes.

Homebrew stuff. Most of the people modding their consoles are not even aware of it. All they want is the ability to play pirated games.

I don't see as many games as compared to a decade back.

I had a modded PS2 before this but now I only buy second hand games for my PS3.

Its a business. If you steal just because they are making a profit they will move their business into a more profitable venture. We are already witnessing 3hour games like NFS the run and the latest MW series running a few hours more than that.

Now before we get lost, I don't think jailbreaking PS3 will be made legal due to their business model. The same cannot be compared to a phone or other such devices. However this might mean that the next iteration of consoles may have an app store of sorts for all the homebrew stuff that can be made.

Yeah, no. Most jailbreaking is about piracy. Not saying all, but most is. No need to be hypocritical about it.

just want to add one more point to the discussion, which is the recent b**chy-act started by EA, etc which asks you to buy an online pass if you aren't the original buyer..

now, these kinda things really frustrate me a lot, the companies just like milking way up to the end..

Yes obviously jailbreaking is done for ahem games. But then the new jailbreak of Kakaroto or something is without Peek N Poke. It might be released within the next month or so.
