Damned Bollywood can't make a good movie without sex and/or violence.

Watching Alejandro Amenabar's "The Sea Inside" right now. He also directed "Open Your Eyes". Highly recommended.

Finished watching The Sea Inside. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - 9.5/10
Private, if this movie doesn't make you cry even a little - time to visit an eye specialist.

I gave BD a rating of 7/10. It's good, but not good enough. The movie should have ended right when Leo gives up on his life and quest for the stone, and as the camera descends down the valley, across the mountains. Connelly was wooden at times. BD is overrated for the only reason that it's a movie about Afrika. Overall a good try, but I honestly don't see even the most "sensitive and emotional" women distancing themselves from the lust for diamonds. What a waste!

Gimme a break. The last bit at the conference and the title cards are brilliant.

Ending after Leo's death would've been very bollywood-ish.
To each his own. C'mon, Bollywood would've killed everyone only to make Leo lick Connelly's lips in the final scene, with some absurd music in the background and a few extras jumping around like monkeys.

Solomon's speech in the end was a hopeless try to make the movie look more authentic and documentary-ish, which it most certainly is not.

It was needed though, the whole movie was about letting the outside world know what goes on in Sierra Leone, its the purpose Connelly was there for with her camera. The ending conference and having watch Solomon's family in peace was a much satisfactory ending than it would've been if it shut down right after DiCaprio's death, specially the ending made it with that surreal moment when Solomon gazes at a diamond necklace he knows was made from blood of his people.
